This book provided excellent guidance for anyone implementing or managing a worksite based health management program. Appreciated the attention paid to making the business case, the constant reminders that an effective program addresses an entire population--not just the high risk members, and the concrete descriptions of necessary components of an effective program.

This book is excellent and my main reason for posting is to urge you NOT to buy from these vendors! This book is $20 from the University of Michigan website, not $140. Go here: [...] and buy directly from the research institute Dr. Edington runs for $19.95. This book provides evidence based information to take to your board, your senior executives, and your HR. It easily makes the business case for wellness and I guarantee you will enjoy it. I don't work for U of M, I just went to purchase another copy and thought I would just include a copy in my already Amazon existing order until I came across this price! Great book, HIGHLY recommended.

Having had the pleasure, and near anxiety attack, of speaking at the same meeting as Dr. Edington regarding our company's wellness program I wholeheartedly endorse what he describes here. The only way to fix our crisis is to live with wellness, well-being and not have to rely on the costly health care industry. As a tennis partner once asked, "Why are you spending so much time on this at your company?" I replied, "If I can hold off on some risk factors, some chronic conditions, it'll be better. My choices for treating a chronic condition are a lot different at 80 years-old than at 40 years-old." It's got to be the whole lifestyle and require the whole organization to see this. That's why I write and speak so much now about corporate culture.

Dee has been pounding the worksite program turf for many years, and is one of the most prolific strategic program evaluators who has over the years been a significant reality check for the industry. Zero Trends provides an easy read for the c-suite to middle-management / supervisors in understanding "why worksite wellness". His use of quotes from industry leaders throughout the books underlines the importance of leadership buy-in, and gives significant support for the model and theories. I can't imagine a worksite HP / wellness professional not having this on their bookshelf, and for brokers looking for the wellness solution this is a must read.
