Cloak and Dagger: Dark Matters #1 It is a scientific truth that the structure of the universe depends on the amount of "dark matter" contained in the cosmos. When sinister forces threaten to tamper with the very nature of reality, Captain Janeway and the crew of the U.S.S. Voyager must risk everything to restore the universal balance.... Years ago, near the beginning of its long journey, Voyager made contact with a brilliant Romulan scientist whose present was Voyager 's past. Now Telek R'Mor communicates with Janeway again -- to warn her of a dire plot to capture Voyager and turn its "future" technology against the Federation of yesterday. But more than just the timeline is at stake. Voyager itself may be carrying a menace deadly to all creation! Review: Book was in very good condition - The book was as described and I am thankful it was in very good shape , can't wait to read it! Review: Some details wrong - If you donโt know the characters, some information is wrong. Tom Paris was a lieutenant, not an ensign (except a short time demoted while in the brig, and heโs not in the brig in the dark matter books) and his flashback is way off! Itโs from a different character (which McNeill played) on Star Trek:TNG, not Tom Paris of Voyager. The attitude of the characters can be written off to โdark matterโ, but the Paris flashback leaves you questioning how much is inaccurate (the flashback inaccuracy is a huge deal to me). I do wish there was more interaction between the characters. It had alot of introspection, but not much interaction. On to book 3. Btw, this is my 2nd time reading this trio.

Great 3 part Voyager storyline
Nice read. Love the way this author manages to to keep all the characters exactly like in the series. This book is part 1 of 3 and together they make a great story.

More tie-ins with the Alpha Quadrant
In the series episode "Eye of the Needle," the Voyager crew makes contact with a Romulan scientist in the Alpha Quadrant (although he's 20 years in the past). But after the way that episode ended, I never expected the tale to resurface. I was pleased to see Christie Golden's clever approach of building on that plot line. The book includes a lot of Captain Janeway's internal monologue and thoughts, which I enjoyed because she's one of my favorite characters in all fiction. Not all Star Trek authors can do her character justice. I've ordered the next book in the series so I can see how the story evolves.

Voyager excellence!
This book is excellent! Fantastic premise and a book to get your teeth into. The Romulan involvement is fascinating too. I've started book 2 and that's also thoroughly enjoyable. So far an excellent series!

A tad predictable.
The premise is interesting but the plotline was predictable and the character development stilted. Hopefully, the following novels will be a bit more lively.

Great story
Great adventure in Voyager's history. Black matter is an unusual subject & brings up many issues not addressed in other books.

Great story, reads like an episode.
Fantastically easy read, once I began I found it hard to put down, the book truly reads like an episode, you can see and hear the characters in your mind as easily as you would on screen, the author clearly has a great understanding of ST VOG and the personas of the characters, the story itself is a wonderfully intriguing tale which leads on from a first season episode, I enjoyed the book so much I have now bought parts two and three, I'd thoroughly recommend to any Trek fan.

The beginning of a very promising trilogy...
I really enjoyed this book. In many ways it was just my kind of story since I found the whole idea with the dark matter very interesting. Not to mention that Christie Golden brought back Telek R'Mor from one of my favorite episodes, "Eye of the Needle", from season one of Voyager. And with him, of course, more Romulans and the prospect of trying to protect the timeline. For me this trilogy feels very promising and I'm looking forward to see where Golden takes it.

Brilliant Star Trek Books
I bought this book to complete a set of three, having read the first. Like all Star Trek books (and I have dozens, both paperback and e-books), brilliant and absorbing - you won't want to put it down.

A good read
Anyone who goes to the trouble of buying a star trek book is probably going to be a bit biased anyway but it is a good story. Christie golden is a great storyteller and this book does not disappoint.
