The 2.5 year old is now doing independent play with this and knows how to switch up pieces and knows what type of machine he wants to build. Only downside their could be more wheels or more variety of pieces in case you want to build 2 machines at once, but there isnt enough pieces, and I'm not sure if you can make separate add on pieces. But on the whole encourage imagination play, to think about what you want to build and where pieces fit, pieces are the right size for toddlers, even though there are a few pieces the toddler needed assistance with. After a few initial plays at the start, the toddler is now fully confident to build and play on his own and plus these can be taken in the bath if he wants to make a aircraft boat thing. I think boys and girls will enjoy. Thanks.

Our boys love the Rocket-Train-Helicopter and, thinking that all the 1-2-3 Build It pieces would be compatible, we bought this set to expand on it. However, apart from one or two pieces (for example the wheels), components from two sets have puzzlingly small differences in size that stop them from fitting together, much to our frustration. Feels like a missed opportunity.

I bought this for my 2 year olds birthday and it has been well played with so far. He likes using the screw driver and the pieces are nice and chunky to hold on to. It's a shame you can't make all three items simultaneously but he does like to take them apart over and again.

The quality and idea of the toy are brilliant! However I bought it for a 2.5 year old and she can’t do any of the pieces yet other than the wheels/eyes. She can’t even pull it apart without help currently. She loves the robot though and loves playing with him whilst he is built. But she can’t rebuild it without 90% help at the moment. I am very excited for her to be able to do it further down the line though as it is a great toy!

Bought on a whim for my 3yr old daughter robot fan. She loves building different robots and 'aliens'. There is an instruction sheet of different ones to build but she makes what she wants. Strong plastic pieces that click together well and don't fall to bits as soon as you move them.

Great idea and lovely to build with my little one. He can’t build it alone at the moment, feels a bit hard to push everything together

Bought as a gift for a 22 month old. I'd not planned to get this, but couldn't resist when I saw it! They can already connect some pieces - taking apart needs a little help. It is sturdy and inviting. I think they'll have a lot of fun with this - mum and dad certainly will!

Fantastic toy. My 2 year old and 5 girl love assembling and disassembling! I can see their little brains working as they play.

This is a great toy for little ones to build their own robot. My son has so much fun with this and has built different variations. It’s also great for those fine motor skills as you have to use a little more strength to push in the pieces. I wish it came with more pieces to build!

Got this for my two year old after we got the plane/boat/car one from the same company as a gift, which he loved and still will play with it on occasion. Good item with variation, however the quality of the plastic doesn't seem as thick as the other one, and some modes require an adult to help put together. The plane/boat/car he could do on his own but it is a little easier. Overall happy with it and I much prefer these type of toys as it does influence more build and play function.
