a great used buy
I am currently putting together my own home school geography unit studies. This book is a great asset in the arctic/antarctic study. It would also work well for Canada. The crafts in the book work well with the information provided and are easily done in a couple hours at most. I will be looking for similar books from this publisher.

very good book about northern cultures
This is a very nice book about the northern peoples. I use it to teach the kids about native cultures in the north, what they have in common, where they differ from each other. This book is great to show the diversity of northern cultures, including all geographic regions in the arctic. Very nicely put together. There is a creativity part, where kids can try to build or copy items from these cultures by themselves. Here I would suggest to work with more natural materials, but it is a great idea nevertheless. I can highly recommend this books if you work with children and if you want to open up their minds to the different cultures and ethnic groups of this world. I also recommend it as teaching material for the museum. And of course for any kids you want to become sensitive towards other cultures.
