Despite the hate telescopic rods get, this one is surprisingly solid. Super convenient to toss in a bag and go—perfect for quick trips. Casting distance is better than expected, though the handle is a bit short for my liking. The reel was easy to spool and has worked well so far. No saltwater issues yet, but I’ve only had it a couple months. The included gear isn’t ideal for my style (shore fishing reefs in Oahu), but the small tackle case is useful. I’ve caught a good variety of fish with it already, so it definitely gets the job done. Downsides: lining up the guides takes a little effort, and threading the line can be annoying in the wind. Overall: very solid combo if you want something portable and affordable.

I bought this pole with the x variant my friend has the regular one and the difference between the two of them is better buld quality and better fit and finish however both of them surprised me with how well they are built hands down thumbs up

Man, I had a beautiful review and the Amazon app bugged out, so I’m starting over.. I LOVE this rod and reel combo! It’s super convenient. I have used it many times, because it’s just so fun. It’s great to pop in your back pack, get on a bike, ride around a body of water and pick a spot or many spots to fish at. It’s been great to have on hikes too because you never know when some water will show up on your life that you just need to fish at! I’m a novice fisherwoman but I do prefer this rod and reel over my 7’ and 10’ Ugly Stick and rod hand me downs. I preferred it to peoples brand new Shakespeare rod and real combos as well! The Pulsinno reel is so smooth, like butter... Currently I have 6 lb monofilament, I have yet to try anything else. SO, things to keep in mind... you can’t be rough or work to fast to set up the rod. Take one piece at a time to extend it out and get the guides to align properly. You also want to be careful not pull too hard otherwise it’s hard to retract the rod or move the guides if you need. I recently came across an issue of trying to adjust a guide and I had pulled it off. I HOPE there is away I can fix this because I’m really heart broken with out my favorite ride or die, reel and rod combo. Sounds dramatic but I legit LOVE how compact, light, easy it is to travel with, and the over all feel of this rod and reel combo. Oh also the price is excellent. Truly it’s a steal. I’ve been pushing others to get one just to see how much fun it is! The only reason it’s at a 4 star review over all is because I hope I can fix the guide that came off. P.S. I travel around the country for work and I FOR SURE see myself packing this in my suitcase and taking it everywhere with me.

Plusinno spinning reel / collapsible 8' rod. This rod and reel are nicely made. The reel looks very durable and constructed of mostly metal parts with very little plastic, namely the drag knob, the knurled crank arm holding bolt head, and maybe a couple of appearance-related parts. The spool is metal and the fit and finish are pretty much perfect from what I see. No burrs, abrasions, or blemishes. The spool felt a little tight prior to adding line, but after adding line and casting a few times, it smoothed right out. The drag works great and is easy to adjust even with a fish on the line. I spooled mine up with about a 100 yds of 15 lb braid with a 6' 8 lb fluorocarbon leader. As for the 2.4 meter collapsible rod – just like the reel, this rod looks and feels great. Each carbon fiber blank (or tube section in this case) is silky smooth and without blemish. The guides are nice and fitted into a metal ring that also makes up the 'joint' that cinches each section when extended. All-in-all a pretty impressive rod for a very small price. The collapsed length of this 2.4 meter is 26 1/4” and extended it is just at 95 1'2”. The sections are loose when collapsed and tighten only when about 90 % extended. A little twist of each section at the end to completely extend and align the guides is all it takes. To collapse the same action in reverse – twist slightly as you are sinking one section in to the next. First casts with the very light tackle I was using felt a little strange to me since this is nearly 8' long, fairly heavy, and with heavy action with most of the flex when casting pretty close to the end. This is compared to the 6 ½' ultra-light rod or 7' medium action rod that I am accustomed to using in the trout pond where I decided to first try this Plusinno rod/reel. Once I upped the weight of my tackle the Plusinno collapsible rod felt much better. The rod is printed with “Maction” which I assume indicates medium action, but in my opinion this is a fast action rod. It has a fighting butt and I couldn't imagine casting this without using a two handed grip. I used it for a little while casting out a slip-sinker rig and caught my 6 trout limit at the pond. I typically break down my rods when not at the water just to keep the lines from multiple rods tangling the rods into a mess. This collapsible rod makes that job a lot easier and quicker. Since it is so short when collapsed, I have been leaving 1 or 2 of the bottom sections extended just to handle the line from hook to sinker or whatever and the sections stay extended even with pressure from the drag to keep the line taut. My only reservation is that I chose a rod that was too long for my light tackle uses. At the price point, it would not be unreasonable to buy another shorter one. All-in-all this is a real bargain!

I got the 8 ft no lures or line just rod and reel and i opened it and first off, it is a little insane on how long it gets in comparison to how long its i shrunk down. If you handed me a nice PENN reel and then handed me that i wouldnt tell much difference. ths rod is an amazing travel rod and is small enough where it can fit in my carry on. this thing reels like butter and is also an absolute tank. the handle dosent have any play when you reel it backwards when its on anti-reverse. great drag too. i will say i dont love the fact that it is so hard to get the eyes linedup strsight because it is telesopic, but thats about the only thing i dont love about it. for 32 bucks this was a huge win. i cant wait to try it out.

I am so disappointed and embarrassed. My mother in law came to visit us from Europe and I wanted to take her fishing somewhere here in Puerto Rico so I bought these fishing rods. I thought they were good (I am not a fishing guy), you get two collapsible rods which is great for traveling which is why I got these, so she can easily pack them up and take them home. This woman is avid fisherman, she spent hours by the water almost every day. Almost every day there was a PROBLEM with one of the rods. So it’s not the user error, I know very well she knows how to properly use the fishing gear. She ended up leaving one of the rods behind because it became completely faulty. She couldn’t even extend it to use it, it got stuck. Also there was a problem with the reel on the same rod. It would get stuck. She even opened to look inside the reel thinking maybe sand grains fell into and somehow got it stuck? I don’t know. All I know is Many reviews said this is great value but I am absolutely mortified especially after my wife and I made a big deal about surprise and MIL opening the Amazon box. A complete disaster.

Disappointed with this product. This could be a nice hiking/backpacking rod if it were built stronger. Pros: The reel is nicer than I expected. Pretty smooth. Easy to assemble. Collapsing the rod is easy to do and it’s compact enough to put inside a pack or strap it to the outside. Cons: really the only negative is the shaft. It’s not durable. The shaft snapped on my 4th time using this rod. So now it’s useless. I guess you get what you pay for but I expected this would last a few seasons and not just a few uses. UPDATE: Customer service reached out to me on their own and replaced the rod free of charge. Hassle free- I had the replacement with a few days of them reaching out. I haven’t had a chance to use it yet so time will tell if this one lasts. Five stars on their customer service.

I bought two of these Plusinno Carbon Fiber Telescopic Fishing Rod Sets and, to be honest, I wasn't expecting a great deal for the price. I just wanted something convenient for the occasional fishing trip and thought they'd be good enough for a day out. I have to say, I've been pleasantly surprised. The whole kit comes in a nice compact case that's easy to store, the rod itself feels surprisingly decent, and the reel is very smooth. For anyone who fishes occasionally rather than every weekend, this setup is pretty much perfect. My friend and I took them out for a day's fishing. Admittedly, neither of us caught any fish, but we still had a fantastic day and the equipment performed exactly as we'd hoped. The telescopic design makes it incredibly convenient to transport and set up, which is one of the main reasons I bought it in the first place. Considering the price, I genuinely feel like I've got far more than I expected. It's an ideal kit to keep in the back of the car so you're always ready for a spontaneous fishing trip. Highly recommended. If you're looking for an affordable, portable fishing rod set for casual use, I really don't think you'll be disappointed.
