Hell-For-Stout
This is a great bayonet, built tough with everything you need. Includes a barbed wire cutter and a sharpening stone built into the molded sheath. There is even a nylon pocket sewn onto the sheath strap that is great for a little paracord, matches or some emergency gear. The fit to the sheath is very good for belt carry. Using it upside down on a vest is not recommended without the bolster straps as it will start to slide out. Bolster strap could be a little tighter but it is stitched on the sides and ends for extra security so fraying should be minimal over time and with wear. Straps are attached with rivets and screws. There is a quick detach buckle that allows removal of the knife in the sheath while still wearing the belt attachment. The knife itself is heavy duty. The blade is a little less than 1/4" thick. It looks to be powder coated which I see as a negative because when I used it to actually cut some wire it stripped off some of the finish on the blade where it rubbed on the blade pivot. This needs to be tight of course to cut wire but a black oxide finish would have been better protection. You can actually see the edge of the coating and this may strip off over time. Other than that the blade is sharp and cut several small branches easily. I wet the handle down to try it out both bare handed and with gloves and the polymer handle provides plenty of grip. For the money this is a nice knife.

SW3B on a Mossberg 590A1 Retrograde.
I purchased the SW3B M9 style bayonet specifically for use on my Mossberg 590A1 Retrograde. Can’t have a shotgun with a bayonet lug and no bayonet handy am I right? It fits the shotgun well, not perfect, but well. With just a little bit of effort, and I mean very little, it fits perfectly. The only criticism that I have so far is the wire bender/cutter feature. The post that serves as the pivot point for the blade is not tall enough to accommodate the thickness of the blade. This makes it impossible, at least on mine, to use the wire cutting/bending feature without some material modifications. This is not a major issue for me, just some feedback. All in all, a very good value. The blade is good, the handle and lug connector are very very solid. I will definitely purchase again if I have the need.

An M9 will not fit on your Carbine length 16" rifle, without a little help.
First, lets get one thing out of the way. If you own a 16" M4 AR style rifle with a carbine length hand guard, then the M9 bayonet will sit too far back on your rifle. The weapon is designed for rifle length barrel and fore grips so that the bayonet ring rests on the mil-spec flash suppressor. If you put this knife on a carbine and then complain that it is loose, then you are just showcasing your own ignorance of a weapon you choose to own. You can use a bayonet on such a rifle if the flash suppressor is removable. Such is my Bushmaster M4A3 Patrolman Carbine. I was able to purchase and install the Tacticool22 Carbine Bayonet Adapter to allow proper function of this bayonet on my platform. Just Google "tacticool carbine bayonet adapter" and it should be the first result. That plus the cost of a new crush washer and you are set. I have uploaded a photo here showing this installation to the customer images section of this products page. If you own a rifle with a shorter barrel and welded flash hider, depending on configuration, it may work. Again, assuming your rifle has a Mil-Spec flash suppressor. The M9 is designed for the M4 and M16 weapons platform. If you install it on a shotgun and then proceed to blow it apart, well, a shotgun is not an M4 or M16. That said, this Taiwan manufactured "replica" is well made. I am quite pleased with the purchase. You can expect the finish to wear from the blade with time. The blade is stainless which is difficult to finish. Even my stainless Sig-Sauer's anodized finish is wearing off with repeated insertions into a holster. These are tools and I do not expect them to not wear over time. If you want a true M9, check out the OK6143 from Ontario here on Amazon Ontario M-9 Bayonet, Black, Scabbard OK6143 at twice the cost. Ontario is currently one of the official military producers of this knife. Having never owned a genuine M9, I cannot offer a comparison of this one from Smith & Wesson to the original, but I can attest to the fact that it is well made and certainly surpasses my expectations for its cost. I am very pleased with the purchase (at fifty dollars) . This knife comes with a lifetime warranty.

Decent budget m9
This knife is awesome and very heavy in the hand of course it's an m9 bayonet so it's gonna be heavy. The blade arrived very dull but the tip was pretty pointy for the stab by work. This blade is also fairly large so you definitely will feel like you're carrying a huge blade even though this thing is only about 11 inches or so. That handle is extremely comfortable and the sheath is the only complaint I have with this knife. The coating on this knife gets scratched off very easily due to the metal spring in the sheath. But as another reviewer had mentioned that I found on here, he said that you can pull up the little tab by using a thing kitchen knife to get between the little plastic piece and the metal clip slowly and slightly firmly lift the knife up and try to get a bit gentle so you don't break the plastic bit. Once it's lifted up the metal clip will fall down and so will the other plastic piece it will be at the bottom of your sheath just shade them out on a table or some place clean so you won't lose your plastic piece if your hands are big enough just catch them. Line the plastic peace up with its original hole where it used to help keep the metal "felt" thingy and just use your knife to push it back in the hole and you're good.

Passt exakt auf die Aufnahme des M16. Klassische Messerscheider und Koppelgerödel. Für alltäglichen Gebrauch nicht wirklich brauchbar, da sehr schwer.
