Don't buy these
I bought these in the late fall so I waited till winter was over (I live in Nebraska) and attached to two down spouts. I had a very hard time attaching them, I had to use a hair dryer to get them on. They were suppose to fit my measurements, and did after they are on but its getting them on that is very hard. Now 3 rain storms later and two weeks have gone by. They fail, they won't unroll and the water sits in them. If you unroll them yourself the water shoots out but they fall off the end of the spout. Even with the ties tightly wrapped around them. Don't waste your money

Don’t buy this
Had high hopes for this product but it has failed in every way within 2-months of installation.- Does not properly unroll when it rains. Internal spring is too strong/tight- Sits full of water after a rain event once it rerolls- Small pinholes developed in the material- Eventually fell of the downspoutWish I kept the box, I could swear it said something about money-back guarantee. I would take them up on it after this experience. Wish I had not bothered to buy and try this.

DID NOT ROLL OUT DURING RAIN!
I got the item(s) yesterday and put them on immediately as it suppose to rain during the night. They did not roll out while it was raining which caused all the rain water to back up and caused larger issues than I had before! I never would suggest this for anyone wanting to get the rain waters away from the foundation! IT DOES NOT WORK!

Works OK with modifications; longevity concerns
This product works OK, with some modifications. I place a second zip-tie behind the foam pad to more firmly secure the drain extender to the downspout; the single zip-tie that came with the product, when applied to the foam pad, was not secure and resulted in the extender being pulled off the downspout. Also have problems with the extender being clogged by debris that collects in the gutter (primarily leaves). To deal with this, I first have removed the clip at the end of the extender so that any water, and debris, will more freely pass through the extender. Second, I will manually clear the extender of debris through the opened end of the extender whenever there is debris clogging the extender. Thus, this product is not ideal; however, I have not found anything better. My other concern with this product is that it is not very strong, requiring replacement quite frequently; I have had to replace it twice in the last year.

It worked, but it didn't
First, I should note that this downspout extender was installed on a home in Florida, where we get heavy rains everyday during the summer.I had high hopes for this 4' Drain Away Downspout Extender. Despite what other reviewers had said about it not rolling out, I didn't find that to be the case. However, it doesn't allow enough water to escape through the holes (see pic 1), and subsequently backs up and shoots out around the gutter downspout seams (see pic 2). Also, any leaves or debris in the gutter get caught inside. I did discover that the end piece comes off to make cleaning that debris out easier (there is a black plastic piece that holds the edge of the extender shut at it's end, which can be removed). It comes with a black foam piece that sticks to your gutter. You then pull the extender over top of that and secure it using an included zip tie. I'm not exactly sure about what the function of the black foam piece is, but my best guess is that it's to create a tighter seal. It's possible that removing the end piece (not just for cleaning, but to allow more water to escape) may makes it function better, however I have removed the foam and cut the zip tie, so I can't test that out. It doesn't have much in the way of directions to give any guidance that way. While the perceived functionality of this drain extender is nice, how it works in real life is not as good.

Solved the washout problem
We installed it on a downspout where we had a washout problem where both a flower bed and grass area would wash out. The next day a rain shower put it to the test. The drain away downspout extender unrolled across the bed to a concrete walk and diffused the water flow which also kept the grass beyond the walk from washing out too. We have filled in the hole and planted grass seed. When the rain stopped the extender rolled all the way back up and ready for the next rain. We are not sure other reviews stated it does not completely roll up. Ours does!

Don't purchase!
Don't waste your money. Unless there is a torrential downpour, it will not unroll, and instead water squirts out of the small pressure holes, right into the area of your back patio or foundation of your house, which is the thing you are trying to avoid to begin with.

While the construction and material is top-notch, the Drain ...
While the construction and material is top-notch, the Drain Away does not operate properly due to the firmness of the load springs on the sides of the tongue. My downspout was totally full before the tongue started to unroll during a heavy rainstorm. During light rain the water just pools near the structure, which is not why you buy this product. My final thought is that this product needs to be reworked to make it vable

Way too large for a use in Québec
One of the worst product I bought. I don't know if american people have larger gutter spout, but this is way too large. The tie-wrap can't hold it because of the folds formed by the "over", so you soon get the tie wrap on the spout and the extender on the soil. Then, the tie wrap can't be use anymore. So a complete waste of money.

Does Not Work
The product was easy to put on but when it rained the water just piledup behind the bag.The weight of the water was not sufficient for the drain to unravel. Thus the product failed to perform and went into the garbage.

Horrible Device
Stupid thing stays rolled up and it has to rain like a hurricane for the thing to roll out. Don’t buy this. It sucks

Doesn't work
It doesn't roll-out properly and because the plastic is already perforated the water just drains effectively straight down.
