Works well
This fly trap is easy to set up and works very well. It does STINK but that's to be expected if it attracts flies. It worked wonders outside on our deck last summer and we will be using it again this year.

Smells like rotting meat but worth it because it works!
I moved into a house that had a completely overgrown (but small) yard that attracted A LOT of flies. This was a problem, as I like to keep my backdoor open for my dogs to come in and go out as they please. I purchased one trap and hung in the corner of the yard. I didn’t notice the smell too much the first day or two, but after a few very hot days the smell was HORRID. Imagine a bag of trash filled with week old rotting meat left in the sun. However, the trap was filling up fast and always swarming with flies. I left it up for about a week. At that time it was still attracting flies but was pretty full and I couldn’t deal with the smell anymore. It’s been about a month since I took it down and I’m happy to say that the flies haven’t come back! Of course, there are still some flies here and there. But nothing like before. I can leave my door open without worrying about more than one occasional fly coming into the house. I can walk into my backyard without having to swat away bugs. Even when I go out to scoop the yard where the dogs go potty, I only see a few. I definitely recommend this product and will use again in the future if needed. I’d also recommend, if possible, placing this far away from outdoor areas that you use. Otherwise expect to not frequent the area until you’re ready to take it down.

Vastly fewer flies
Used it to catch flies. I have horses. There can be a lot of flies around horses. These traps catch a LOT of flies. Don't know why they want it rated on scent. Yes they stink. If they didn't stink, they wouldn't catch flies. They are used outdoors not indoors, so I don't find it to be that much of a problem. Cleaning out the reusable ones and resetting them is gross, so if you don't have a strong stomach for that sort of thing, use the disposable ones and just throw them away. Both work equally well in catching flies. With the reusable ones, you do have to buy bait refills. I'm not sure what is in the bait, but it is not toxic. Early on, I had a disposable one fall as I didn't tie it up well. My dog discovered it first and tore it open and ate the bait. I called the vet, I looked on the Rescue! web site, it is harmless. My dog is fine.

Works
This definitely works. I believe it works best outdoor and not indoor. However, after a couple of minutes, it stinks. It literally stinks like a septic tank. It smells like sewer and that is even without any flies inside so you can’t have it outdoors when you have guest or even dwelling outside yourself. You can keep it outside when there’s nobody going outside to trap the flies like I said it definitely works, but it smells really, really, really bad That’s the only reason for me giving it four stars and not five star one star took away because of the smell but definitely works

It works for indoor fly issues too
So, I was hesitant to buy this because I wasn’t really looking for an outdoor fly solution, our flies were inside the house and the infestation was significant. However, I bought this because I reasoned “well, if it’s just the smell, maybe it will still work?” We did open it and let it ripen inside where the flies congregated. It did well and caught many. However, when the smell was pervading the house, I decided to put it outside the window of where the were congregating. Omg, when I say the flies were 100% gone that night, it is not a lie. We currently have almost 2” of fly carcasses in the container. So, my advice is if you’re having issues with flies inside, find a spot just outside and open the window. They are drawn to it like a magnet. It was crazy! The product is also a decent size and I love that it’s refillable. I’m even contemplating getting the refills and just making my own container if I need more than one

There is nothing better than this!
I have used these for a few years now. Flies in North Texas are plentiful and some are quite large. I use these around my property and they do smell horribly. A fly cannot resist that awful smell. You don't put them near your door, but rather close by to attract them away from your doors. My dog is terrified of indoor flies, but not the outdoor flies. Sometimes, I can't find them or execute them. So I bring one of the traps inside and place it near a door and in the morning, I will find that little floater and show my dog. He tries to catch them outside. Are they vowing revenge when they get inside and tell my dog they are going to squish him into oblivion? Of course I am just kidding.
