UPDATE 12/30/2024 - DETAILED NedFoss FA46 Folding Knife Convenient to carry and use. Open frame makes is easy to clean and decontaminate. Is easy to put a good edge angle for a very sharp blade. However, because we are looking at an inexpensive knife, it does not keep a sharp blade for a long time under 'abusive" conditions. I would recommend this knife for a good overall knife.i carry it. And, because of the reasonable price, if I damage it, misplace or loose it I'm not going to stress over it. I should have given it 4 stars, as the mfg/seller never responded with fulfilling the free knife offer. Other than that it is a good all round knife, especially for the price. I can say I either own or have given away almost two dozen of these knives. The only complaints have ever been those below. I would recommend this knife. I don't know about the Glass Break or the Seat Belt Cutter. I do know that a Spring Punch will shatter a window; but this is due to the 'Point. I have these in every vehicle, and have 'pointed the tip' to make it more effective. As for "sharpness" keep a 20° edge on it and it will cut most any thing. Concerning the assisted spring opening. Most of these knives will not open fully when new. Add a little 'Vegetable Oil" if you plan on using it around food or sewing machine oil for non-food uses. Manually move the knife blade to full range several times without locking open or closed. You should then have no problem with the Assisted Opening function. Soak up any extra oil on knife or blade with a tissue or paper towel. NOTE: If you notice the blade develops a little wobble, add a little 'low strength' LockTite and use the proper size 'STAR' HEX driver to tighten the fasteners on both sides of the knife frame. Yes, there are better knives out there. For example, most of my kitchen knives have high quality German blades in them. But, I have this Ned Foss knives in each vehicle, Medical bags and travel kits/boxes, etc. I also, always, carry this knife on me with the 'clip'. This means the open frame design is prone to collecting dust. I use Q-Tips to keep it clean. NedFoss states it can be washed and air dried (I would use a hair dryer). An Assisted Opening knife is legal to carry in California. You'll need to check your own state. • Finally. Like any other knife, keep it sharp and clean. Remember, this is a knife ... not a Pry Bar or Axe. The blades are fairly hard. This means that is prone to breaking if misused. (It is listed as HIGH QUALITY BLADE: NedFoss FA46 folding knife is made of high quality 7Cr17 stainless steel, razor sharp and hardness up to 57HRC.) 57 is in the grouping of professional [55-57], reasonably good steel, maintains a good edge when used properly, somewhat brittle. PS' NEDFOSSes warranty is somewhat confusing. In the paragraph, one place says 2 years. A little further down, it says Lifetime. I've never used either or inquired.

Arrived sharp. Seems of decent quality. The body feels like a plastic cover over a metal frame. Would like to see that as metal with rubber grip details. Balanced where the index finger rests, giving good control of the blade. Fits well in the hand. I prefer my pocket clips to be on the hinged end as this one is. Prevents the blade from opening and becoming a hazard in your pocket as well as being in position for quick use. This is a finger assist opening blade. Im concerned that the mechanism keeping the blade closed may wear with time. Finally, there is no texture on the latch to close this blade. Its smooth. I guess this was a comfort in hand choice in design, but it makes it difficult to close with wet hands.

Great knife I use daily very tough also the window breaker works great had to break a window to rescue a person from a automobile accident that a sledgehammer was having a hard time breaking

This knife has a nice weight to it. I was a little concerned over what the quality would be but it straight out just a great deal. The blade is sharp, offers multiple was to open using just your finger or thumb and looks great. it feels good in your hand, it isn't something smaller than most things and feels sturdy. You get the sense that you could utilize all the features the knife offers in real life situations. Really pleased wit my purchase, now if I could just stop playing with it lol

It’s a little too heavy. Really want one that is half the weight

Der Linerlock funktioniert einwandfrei bei meinem Produkt, die Ergonomie stimmt (habe mittelgroße Hände) und der federunterstützte Öffnungsmechanismus lässt die Klinge sicher und spielfrei arretieren. Es ist ein recht schweres Messer durch die Verwendung von Metall als Griffschalen, was es aber umso robuster macht. Nach dem Abziehen auf Wassersteinen bis zur Körnung 8000 scharf wie ein Skalpell;-) Habe teurere Messer von namenhaften Herstellern die weniger Qualität bieten wie dieses Nedfoss-Messer! (der Gurtschneider und der Glasbrecher sind für mich weniger interessant, scheinen aber Ihren Zweck erfüllen zu können)

Ist ein sehr schönes taschenmesser, ich empfehle aber die Schrauben etwas nachzuziehen, da der Monteur wahrscheinlich etwas schwach auf der brust ist beim verschrauben ;-)

Ich habe mir das Messer für den Feuerwehr Dienst gekauft durch die Klemme an der Seite hält es perfekt in meiner einsatzhose habe meiner Frau das selbe auch geholt und sie ist auch total zufrieden.
