Had the OXO one but the silicone always molded. This one is mostly metal so no issues. It will grab the hair much tighter and doesn’t slide around due to the weight. So no hair slipping past. No issues with water flow and if you use rubber gloves to rub the collected hair it comes right off.

Actually hard to rate. It works very well to trap hair and debris. Outstanding actually in that regards. Unfortunately because it does so well you have to clean it rather thoroughly after each use. You also have to clean underneath it as any soapy products or micro pieces are caught. It fits well over the existing plug that extends out. And seems sturdy. After removing hair, the holes come clean with basic cleaning sprays and little effort. It seems to cause water to puddle more while you’re in the shower even when clean. All that said, it’s better than having clogged pipes and much better priced than a plumber. Chose this version because did not want to unscrew the existing stopper if a bath was desired rather than a shower.

We kept dealing with hair clogs in our basement bathtub and decided to give this drain protector a try. The drain cover immediately began catching hair that would have otherwise ended up in the drain. Cleaning the collected hair was quick and easy, as shown in the photo. Since installing the drain protector, hair buildup has been much less of a nuisance. A simple and effective solution for preventing bathtub drain clogs.

I am extremely pleased with this hair catcher. It does exactly what it purports to do. It's well-made and fits securely in the tub. I wish LEKEYE offered a smaller version for my bathroom sink.

I am not a frequent rater, but I spent some time with the two most popular drain covers for pop-up drains (OXO and Lekeye) and I wanted to share what I learned. The bottom line: neither is perfect, but I'm going to stick with the OXO. What I am looking for: --works with a pop-up drain (photo), TIE --stays put when showering, TIE --catches my hair (long straight caucasian hair), Lekeye wins by a little --allows water flow, Lekeye wins until there is a hair buildup (see details) --easy to clean, OXO wins by a landslide Longer version: I first bought the OXO for my new shower that I wanted to protect from hair clogs. I liked it, but every time I showered, there would be soapy water left standing at the end. This is because my hair would start to clog the bottom holes, and THERE ARE NO HOLES ON THE BASE (photo). I got into the habit of cleaning it off and then giving the shower a quick cold-water rinse, EVERY TIME I showered. It was fine, but I thought I could do better. So I bought the Lekeye because I could see that there are a lot more holes on the bottom part of the cover. Because of that, it does drain better than the OXO, especially at first. The issue is that the base is covered in little nubs (photo) to catch the hairs. And it does a great job of it! The problem is, I find it hard to get the hair off of the nubs. So I kept my habit of cleaning every time, but each day a little more hair would remain on the cover. So now, it no longer drains that well and is kind of gross after a few days of use. Bottom line: if you are concerned about your hair slipping through, the Lekeye is a more "sticky" cover. My hair is not particularly thick, though, and the OXO catches a ton of hair. I'm not concerned that much is getting through. But in the end, given that I need to clean both regularly, I'm going with OXO which is a quick wipe and then done. I still can't get the hair off the Lekeye to put it away. NOTE: I will pull out the Lekeye when it's time to give my new puppy a bath! So that might be important for some of you!

I have struggled to find the perfect hair catcher to sit over my tub drain! This one meets all my needs though. It stays in place, works perfect for my drain, and did not require any extra installation plus it does not create a suction seal so water has no issue draining. For the price I will be buying more for my other bathrooms.

Works really good in both shower and bath. Stays put and doesn't float away. And fits well over pop up plug. I clean hair off after every use and don't let it clog
