I'm a chauffeur, so my phone is vital for my job. I've tried many phone mounts over the years, this is by far the best for in the air vent. As long as you hold the button on the left for opening and closing .So the gears don't grind, it will last for ever.

I’ve always felt that these cd slot phone holders really are the best and most consistent. Once you tighten them down, they stay in place. The problem being that new cars don’t come with cd players any longer. Suction types don’t seem to stay in place without falling loose, the air vent ones are not that sturdy but that’s more do the problem with the vents being cheap plastic and therefore aren’t strong enough. The one thing I wasn’t crazy about this one was that the pictures make it seem like the side arms are deeper than they are. So depending on the case they’re a little small. They still hold but was hoping for a better all around grip. I’ve been using this type of holder for years.

I have an older Jeep Cherokee XJ and have had tons of issues finding the proper cell phone mount. This one definitely works the best. The dash is not flat anywhere, the vents too old, brittle, floppy and loose to use for mounting. I broke out one of the vent fins trying to make a different holder work. This one with the CD slot mount is awesome! I just pushed that mount into the CD slot, tightened the screw underneath, and it is in there solidly and reliably. It is sturdy and easy to tilt left, right, or up and down to adjust the view using the ball mount behind the device. NOTE: If you still use your CD player and worry about your vents being right for the mounting, then maybe this one isn’t for you. I installed Bluetooth in my Jeep so all my music and hands free audio comes from my cell phone nowadays. I love this mount and highly recommend it. Solid, well made, and seems to be quite durable. I have a iPhone 14 Pro in a military grade protective case and it fits just fine. The release button works great and expands quickly when pressed. The rubbery edges inside the holder work extremely well too.

I’m so happy I purchased this before the “no touch” goes into affect. I have an older SUV & although it is equipped with Bluetooth and a lot of other features, this phone holder is perfect for my 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser.

Update: I was using the vent clip and it broke the vent lever and fell in the floor while I was driving. I started using the CD mount that also came with it and it shakes so bad you can't hardly see what's on your phone. Also my cd opening is gapped now because of it. I don't recommend it. I've only had it no more than 2 months.

The previous phone holder I had uses a suction cup to attach itself to the windshield which tends to fall from time to time and the windshield is kinda too far for me to be able to see things clearly, so I really needed a different holder that is both stable and closer to me. I bought this last week after some research, and am pretty happy with it. It was put in the car the day it arrived, both air vent and CD slot were tested, it handles the job very well either way, and it does not block my view and is out of way of everything. It looks like the whole mount was made of very good quality plastic and some metal parts, I believe it will last for a long time. It is very easy to adjust to any angle and the phone stays in the holder very securely and snuggly. I have several phones of different sizes, and the mount holds well each of them, and it is so simple to mount or dismount the phone - just press a button on the side of the holder, and squeeze the two sides of it. The installation instruction was written pretty clear too. I am very happy with my purchase and will update later.
