🌿 Elevate Your Turf Game with Precision Herbicide!
Control Solutions Quali-Pro MSM Turf Herbicide is a professional-grade herbicide featuring 60% metsulfuron methyl, designed for effective weed control in southern ornamental turf. Ideal for use on Kentucky Bluegrass, Bermudagrass, and St. Augustine, this 2 oz spray provides precise coverage, allowing for targeted application rates of 0.25 to 1.0 oz per acre, ensuring your lawns, parks, and golf courses remain pristine and weed-free.
| Coverage | The 'coverage' of the Control Solutions Quali-pro Msm Turf Herbicide 2 Oz is the area that can be treated with the specified use rate of the product. For example, for Kentucky Bluegrass and Fine Fescue, the use rate is 0.25 to 0.5 oz per acre, so the 'coverage' would be the area of land that can be treated with this amount of product. |

Actually Kills Virginia Buttonweed
This product works fine in Myer Zoysia turf lawns, and is very effective against Virginia Buttonweed (assuming the directions are followed and the second application is made). The active ingredient of this product (metsulfuron methyl) is the same as the herbicide formerly sold under the trade name “Manor”. Metsulfuron is one of only two selective herbicide chemical groups actually shown to be effective against Virginia Buttonweed, and MSM is the only one of these chemicals I have found that is sold in volumes economical for residential use. In fact at my local farmer’s co-op, even the container of MSM I found was 3 times the cost of what I paid on Amazon and would have been enough chemical to treat my yard for over a decade (probably far past the shelf life of the chemical in an opened container). MSM is very effective against several other broadleaf category weeds, but this chemical is not for control of grass turf weeds (e.g. crabgrass, goosegrass, dallisgrass). Also, it may not be completely clear from the description, but this product is in dry form, so “oz.” refers to the unit of weight, not fluid ounces. I was initially concerned when I read the chemical data sheet prior to purchase that this product would be impossible to mix up in lawn sprayer sizes (before I realized that it was not referring to a fluid ounce), but the product is not too terribly difficult to mix for a residential scale application (although the chemical data sheet directions are written for large scale applications). The applicator cap included has volume markings down to 0.1 oz. The recommended rate for Buttonweed (in Zoysia) is 1 oz per acre, so with a 2 gallon hand sprayer, the minimum marking of 0.1 oz will cover about 0.1 acre mixed at the 20 GPA rate. Use of a non-ionic surfactant is highly recommended, as this chemical needs to contact vegetation to be effective.Update:After two seasons, MSM has had quite an impact on the Virginia Buttonweed presence in my lawn. The turf farm where I purchased my Zoyisa had quite a buttonweed problem, and for the first two years after laying turf, it was pretty heavy in several sections of the lawn. It took two uniform applications the first year to start making a real difference. By the second year, I really didn't have to apply to the whole yard again, as a couple of spot sprays spread over the season seemed to do the trick. I haven't noticed an harm to the Zoysia grass after use of MSM.

Great product! Finally put Diodia virginiana To Rest!!!
Finally killed off Diodia virginiana/ Virginia buttonweed. Have tried many big box store products to no avail. I have Tall fescue and the lawn is not level so some areas hold rain for extended time periods and that's perfect for Diodia virginiana. Located in Southeastern part of the country. I used 2 4 D herbicide in June with no affect and in early March I used Anderson's Barricade Granuales and yard was still loaded with weeds. Sprayed MSM with surfactant and Lazer blue dye around mid July and it's now the 29th of July and all of the areas of the lawn that I sprayed have killed the Diodia virginiana/Virginia Buttonweed to the roots. Please use the recommended dose or less pending the temperature and the amount of rain that you are receiving. I have slight browning in some areas but, it's because of the high air temperatures. I wasn't as worried about my tall fescue browning as I was about eradicating the weeds. Had full stage clover that has died off also. I wanted to kill off the Virginia buttonweed as early as possible so that I could still overseed in the fall without any problems.

Saved my lawn!
I have a small Bermuda lawn that was covered in several winter broad-leaf weeds. Lawn was probably 70% weeds. I previously tried several big box store products for post-emergent, and they never worked. This stuff finally worked! I applied at the end of January. In my region (Southeast US), Bermuda did not go fully dormant this year. After 4 weeks, the Bermuda is greening up well and starting to fill in the areas previously covered with weeds. Now about 10% of lawn is covered with weeds (mostly Poa Annua, which this product is not labelled to control).Pros:- Great value, it will last me several years and is very inexpensive compared to other products- Great broad-leaf winter weed control. Got rid of hairy bitter-crest, hen bit, plantain, and chickweed (and I'm sure several other types) successfully.- Does not seem to hurt Bermuda at recommended application ratesCons:- Slow acting. At 2-3 weeks, weeds were turning yellow and purple. At 1 month, most weeds are dead or dying.- Stopped weed growth, but did not completely kill weeds like glyphosate and other non-selective herbicides. I cut the tops of the weeds off with the lawn mower about 2-3 weeks after application, and the weeds have not come back. Bermuda is now growing in areas where the dying weed stems are left.- Difficult to mix for small lawn. It did come with a handy measuring cup that helped with the small measurements, but i was still using 0.08 ounces for my entire lawn! You have to be very careful as it can kill treas and turfgrass at higher concentrations.- Does not kill Poa Annua
