NuGo Dark, Coconut, 10g Vegan Protein Bar, Gluten Free, 12 Count

These protein bars are so yummy. I'm trying to eat more protein, and I have a sweet tooth. This bar is a win win. I get 10 grams of protein. The taste and texture is yummy. Low carbs, low sugar and I love the taste of coconut. I keep one in my purses when I'm out and about and don't have time to stop and eat right away.

I like this. Just enough coconut that it is not overbearing. Good flavor. If you like chocolate. This is for you.

I'm updating this post. I had to change the score to 3 because as I was eating a bar from the box (second row). The outside looked the same, but the inside changed. Either there was no quality control or this was a mistake. I have many allergies and this bar's ingredients was supposed to work for me, until I opened a bar this morning and it had rice Krispies and who knows what else was in the bar. I only took one bite, then I realized, WHERE IS THE COCONUT? I write this because maybe someone else may have allergies such as mine. Going forward I'll need to cut the bars before biting into it.

These are even better than I remember them. Price is decent, texture's great, taste is great. I'm sure my mother would vehemently disagree on that, but I'm fortunate in that I guess my palette isn't too discerning. I've had plenty of terrible protein bars; these bars are wonderful. Protein density is great (13g/bar), and I treat these like a proper dessert.

I bought these after trying several in a local shop and needed some kind of vegan protein I could take on flights, throw in gym bag to have after a workout, etc. The coconut one was a hit for me; it gives it a really nice flavor and I can feel the coconut flakes. It's sweet but not sickly sweet like other protein bars I've tasted that shall not be named, chock full of artificial flavors. I was wary of reviews that said they found their bars dry and crumbly. This wasn't my experience at all, and I suspect it depends on the source. Mine came packaged with some cooling pad around it that kept it fresh during transport.

I expected the inside of the nugo dark chocolate coconut to be soft and real coconut cream. They disappointed. They were given to a neighbor.

Taste great, exactly 200 calories.
