Good looks, slightly lower performance
I have been a casual user of 3M’s series 1080 vinyl wrap for unconventional applications since 2007. The photo is of a bicycle fork with matte red RVinyl used to cover chips in the paint. I am pleased with the end result. This is my first time using the product, and I noticed a couple of things: Things I liked: — appearance — air release channels Things I wish were better: — adhesive is not re-sticksble as many times as the 3M 1080. It becomes noticeably weaker each time it is repositioned. — this affects edge lift and bubble flattening — the film seems thinner and reveals more surface imperfections than the 3M 1080…some of this may have to do with the matte finish — the film does not stretch as well
