Gentle & Effective – A Must-Have for Hairpiece Maintenance! As someone who’s worn a hairpiece for over 13 years, I’ve tried many DIY methods to remove tape adhesive. This is my first time using Walker Tape C-22 Solvent, and it made the process much gentler on my unit. The solvent has a strong citrusy (orange) smell and an oily consistency, but it washes off easily with shampoo. I recommend wearing gloves—though not mandatory—since the oil lingers on skin after washing. How it worked for me: Sprayed liberally on old tape, waited a few minutes. Tape peeled off easier, but residue remained. A second application dissolved it completely. Washed my piece thoroughly—no lingering smell or oil. Finished with a light alcohol wipe for extra cleanliness before retaping. Result: My hairpiece stayed secure with fresh tape, and the solvent helped preserve the base. Works phenomenally to get the extensions out. Definitely almost “ruined“ the ability for re-application of the tape pens. The new tape did not even try to read here after full washing of the entire top portion where the table will go and even using rubbing alcohol to remove any residue. Unfortunately, had to throw out an entire set of tape in extensions that were only going to be reapplied for the second time because of this. Apparently this is something that is common so have chosen to instead use other remover as however, I still have this one on hand and will continue to always have on hand any event that I need something removed that I will not ever be needing to reapply.

This product is straight forward and simple to use with a bearable citrus smell and didn't irritate my skin. The product helped me remove my lace wig with ease after having solvent spray soak in. However had to spray alot to ensure lace would come off but still worth buying.

According to my research, it said this product would be faster, cleaner, and less damaging of an option than most. I have had problems in the past with goopy sticky hair I’m cleaning all day from other solvent spray brands… I figured that was just a problem I did not want to deal with, BUT this one is the one I will keep using! Maintaining extensions at home is easily doable now. Since this spray worked within the first minute of spraying and didn’t feel harsh on my very bleached roots (plus non-chemically smelling citrus), I’ll praise it!

My hair gets very oily and difficult to remove. I recommend this brand's new remover from the blue packaging; it releases very quickly and isn't greasy. I only bought this one because the other one wasn't going to arrive in time.

There are a few products out there but this one remains the best. And it smells lovely (orange) so can’t go wrong. It saves so much time when you have the right stuff!

More like 4.5 stars. I cannot speak for other tapes/ tape residue, but this worked fantastic for me. I use the Walker tape for my hair extensions, and was losing my mind at the residue it left. Nothing worked, alcohol, coconut oil, hair masks, etc. this worked and within minutes or less. Only downside is the smell is quite a strong citrus that can linger a little bit. Worth it to have my head glue free, however.
