4-String Violin (BAR-AEVB)

Amazing, but I had to pay $90 Canadian DUTY! :(

The violin is beautiful. I ordered the blue and it really is stunning - much better and brighter than the pictures.However, it does need to be properly set up. The post hole at the bottom was drilled crookedly so the tailpiece popped out when the strings were tightened.I took it to our local music store. They re-drilled the hole, and shortened the strap for the tailpiece. Then they had to re-drill the holes in the pegs for the strings, as they were not in the right place. They treated the pegs, then also shaved down the bridge and installed a new parchment.Basically in order for the instrument to be usable it cost me $100.On the positive side, it sounds great for a relatively inexpensive violin. I haven't plugged in the pickup yet. Looking forward to trying it out.

I’m addition to being delivered to the wrong address, the violin came in a dirty case, had glue on the bridge, and the bow that came with it is obviously someone else’s old bow. This was obviously a used product that was sold as new. Because the bow is old, the violin is not playable.

These acoustic/electric vios are great for live performance. The built in volume control and 1/4 inch jack make them very durable and roadworthy. They are virtually indestructible which is a real plus if you are a musician who tours. The pickup is very even and cut very nicely, even in very loud settings. Have them set up like the violin you are used to playing and you've got a live instrument that is built for the stage and live performance, right down to it's look. Enjoy!
