I recommend Schlage products. This was installed in a door at our new home. It is study & a better quality than other leading brands & aesthetically pleasing. I went to our local big box store & compared the Schlage products to similar competitor items that were on display.. Absolutely love this door knob. Not only was to easy to install, it looks great and very durable. We put this knob on our basement door because it gets alot of use. We have use just basic bathroom and bedroom knobs, but being a door that gets used the most they would break easy. This knob feels like higher quality than others amd anticipate it lasting much longer than others We have purchased.

So I love the look and security a name like Schlage carries. It’s durable and functions well but the install is a pain. The screws are behind the door knob and it’s very difficult to angle a screwdriver back there. Also the screws are soft and if you force it it gives them a rough edge which will scratch you whenever you try to use it.

Easy to install and a nice safety feature. When the knob is locked and you are exiting out the door, when the knob is turned (either direction), the knob is unlocked. If you exit without your key, you can still get back inside. You have to make an effort to lock the knob before closing the door. Plus, I got it keyed the same as the Schlage deadbolt.

This is a beautiful door knob...it is made well...packaged well and price was just right. A+

The hardest part of installation is taking the old door knob off. On my door I have to push a tab in with a screwdriver and pull at the same time. The second hardest is lining up the two ends until they come together to sandwich the door. Practice when the two pieces are not in the door. The third hardest thing is screwing the screws in because you need to start the screws with your fingers and then when they're almost all the way in you need a long screwdriver that will get behind the doorknob. The doorknob supports distances of 2 and 3/8 and 2 and 3/4 inches. The door comes with plates on the latch and the strike for either sharp or rounded edges. I installed mine on the interior closet door which is probably less than 2 inches thick and it worked fine. You can lock it from the outside and then you can't lock someone in because there's a manual unlock on the inside. For me this was just to keep kids out of the closet. I think the plate behind the knob gives it a nice little architectural flair that makes it a cut above a regular doorknob. It feels pretty sturdy, relative to today's cheap manufacturing. The key is very smooth and has no sticking or other problems.

I have not yet installed this on my door but oh my it's so attractive! Schlage is a great manufacturer and I trust that it will operate perfectly. They have a respectable reputation!

After having to purchase 2 different Weiser locks for our garage door, and having them each fail within less than 6 months, we decided to try a different brand. In comes this attractive, solid handle from Schlage. It has been on for a few months now. The finish is still brand new looking, even though this handle is utilized many times every day by our family. It feels incredibly solid, and it's a gorgeous handle. Will be purchasing again for our new garage which we plan to build on our new property. Don't hesitate to purchase this handle. The weight and quality speak for themselves. Should we ever have an issue, I will update this review!
