Great time saving tool
Great auger bit. Once I was able to cut through the roots, I used the auger to loosen the dirt and shoveled it out of the hole. Cut my work time in half. Durable and sturdy. Fits well into the drill shaft and locks well with the hexagon shape end. Smooth operation in dirt but if you have a lot of roots, be aware of a sudden pickup that can twist and injure your hand. I use slow speed initially until I loosened the dirt then high speed to dig the hole.

Works great, well made, but should have a notch to fit impact drivers.
My wife asked for this for Xmas. I admit I was skeptical, thinking I'd need a drill with a second handle. We finally used it and it worked like a charm in our sandy soil. Results might vary in hard pack. I have a chuck attachment for my impact driver and that worked particularly well. Too bad it doesn't have an impact-driver shaft (that is, a hex shaft with a notch.) It looks well-made and durable. If it degrades quickly I'll update the review. Minus one star just for the shaft not fitting an impact driver, otherwise it'd be 5 stars.

Rocky Top
Works great even at rocky top. But you better hold on, it will twist your arm off. Before we got this we had to dig holes for plants with a pick or straight claw hammer

Loose soil this may work
Doesnโt work for South Louisiana wet mud. Had it on 18v lithium makita drill and it would bore down throw chunks of mud and then get stuck and Iโd have to reverse and get it out. It would make hole but not big enough for tulip bulbs I had and I wouldnโt have any dirt to cover with. I ended up using shovel to plant 300 bulbs. Iโm giving it 3 stars cause I think it would work in some loose soil.

Makes Bulk Planting Much Easier
This auger drill bit is sturdy, well-made, and fit perfectly into my drill. It cut clean holes with very little effort and didnโt bind up in the soil. Planting bulbs went so much faster and saved my hands and back compared to digging by hand.

Item without a drill
The auger was supplied without the drill. It is just like a piece of rod without the drill. In the picture there is a drill attached to the augur . But in the user manual they are suggesting to use electric drills. Amazon should refrain from advertising such vendors.

Make sure to drill at slow speed!
These have made planting and replanting a LOT easier. But if you don't drill slowly, it may knife into the ground very fast, jerking the drill forward (along with your arm!) and getting it out can be a pain.

awesme tool
Bought this to help loosen up the soil around my rhubarb. I worked like a charm. I used my cordless drill and it easily went down into the compacted soil and with the drill in reverse it easily came back out. I have also used this to loosen up the soil which helped greatly in digging a hole. The metal is sturdy and it seems to be constructed well.
