I love congee. I use more water than you would expect when making this porridge, the rice will continue to absorb and I like a loose congee and not an oatmeal consistency. I usually add some thinly sliced Vidalia onion, some cilantro and if I have any leftover protein I will slice it thin and add it. I also like a splash of sesame oil and a dash of soy sauce. These are fine plain and easy to enhance. They make an excellent filling snack and is easy to carry with you. You can use water from a coffee/hot water dispenser to make this when you travel. I like both the chicken and the beef. I haven't tried the other flavors so have no opinion on them. I also like Vifon rice noodle package soups, both in the ramen shape bag and in the bowl. Enjoy

I love this. It’s easy to make and very tasty. I add an egg, cilantro, a little crumbled breakfast sausage and a few dashes of green hot sauce. Tastes amazing!

Just add hot water and stir. Make rice porridge quickly with no hassle. Taste alright. I say the ones that come in a bowl is better though.

It seems that all cultures have some version of a rice porridge — I was first introduced on a trip to Thailand. I make my own, but like to have instant on hand. (instant rice porridge is also good for camping or emergency supplies since it only requires boiling or very hot water poured over.) I’ve never seen these packets in an Asian market — I have purchased this brand in bowls, which are more expensive, and have a fake meat pouch in them. There is only the flavor packet and flavored oil packet in these. I was very happy to find them. Good flavor, good texture, and very convenient. I will buy again!
