Is there a setting that allows you to zap intruders in the groin with some kind of laser?

There is a secret code for that yes. You have to set it to disruptercon 4 and activate the discombobulator mode. This will then allow the door contact to laser intruders in the groin. Disruptercon 3 turns on head mode (makes a mess) Hope this helps!👍🏻

What happens if there is Power loss or internet loss?

There is an internal battery that will allow the alarm to operate during a power cut. If there is Internet loss you can still operate the alarm via the keypad

Are these sensors waterproof?

Although they are not waterproof, I have had one fitted for nearly a year outside covering our drive to the side of the house. I have fitted with a plastic covering over the top to prevent rain from hitting the unit, and it has been absolutely fine so far.

Can the keypad be placed anywhere? or does it need to be powered by mains?

It's battery powered and can be placed anywhere. The batteries are said to last up to 2 years and it is the cr2302 type.
