Update:Removing one star. It's been a year since I bought this cup. I use it every day at work and have always washed it by hand. I don't even use a sponge or brush…literally by hand with dishwashing liquid. The white outline of the battery is coming off, and it seems to be coming off faster and faster.I feel torn between continuing to use it and watching it degrade and buying a new cup and taking this one home. But I really don't want to reward their cheap, short-lived decals with another sale. But I really do like this cup!-----------------------------Original review:I really love this cup and I get a lot of comments about it. The basic idea is great.A couple of detractions:1. When I wash the cup, I worry that the image is going to peel off. It hasn't started to, but it's raised off the surface of the cup in a way that most images on mugs aren't. Makes me wonder if one day it will peel off.2. The heat sensor isn't very sensitive, so the green color only lasts a few minutes. The coffee will still be warm and yet the color will be fading away. I wish it would stay green till the coffee is actually cold.Small matters, really. Overall, it's a good cup.

I am an old and old fashioned, coffee drinking nerd and I like this Worldfashion Battery Color Changing Thermometer Heat Kruzhkus Mug Sensitive Porcelain Cup, but won't be using it for tea. I have had these color changing cups before and do not recommend them to be washed in a dishwasher. The heating cycle slowly destroys the color change after getting too exposed to heat. Also keep them from the Microwave also if you want the color change to last as long as possible. Just some experience with this and another cup or two I have had in the past. Enjoy your cup, nerds.

Got this for my brother in law as a birthday present and it is amazing. Still works well after 6mos and he uses it almost every day. Definitely recommend reading the part on the box that says do not put in DISHWASHER though. Accidentally threw it in there one day and part of the outer coating seems bubbly but that was my own fault. 10/10 recommends as a gift for anyone

Bought this mug for my husband for Christmas. I washed it, put his favorite coffee in it and watched the battery light up. It looked awesome... but that's where the positives for this mug end. We got a kick of out saying "Your battery is low" and "Do you need me to charge your battery?" as way of asking if he wanted more tea or coffee, but only for that first day that we had the mug. By the end of the day, he asked me to simply warm up his coffee because it had chilled and he didn't want a new cup, he just wanted it a little warmer. I put it in the microwave for 30 seconds, that's it. The battery is now permanently "on". I can't seem to make it go back to the "drained" look it has when the mug is cold.For that reason, this product gets one star. If I wanted a plain coffee mug that simply held coffee, I would have ordered one. I wanted a mug that did something when the liquid it held is hot and did something else when the liquid turned cold. A product that works for ONE DAY and then quits on me, and claims to be microwave safe, but isnt? No thanks. I will not order from this company again and I definitely won't recommend their products, especially this mug, to anyone else.Great concept, horrible follow through.

The mug works great and is a fun novelty item. People at work find it amusing and it's a fun conversation starter at the coffee machine. The battery is a decal as other reviews indicate but I've had the mug for four months and with gentle hand washing and drying, haven't had any issues with the decal peeling off. I'd definitely buy it again especially because if the decal does wear off, I've got a nice black mug anyway!

Is a nice mug, like any other mug. Word of warning, DO NOT RUN THROUGH DISHWASHER. Just hand wash this one. It will be just fine. I'll post a picture of what happens if ran through a dishwasher. The white outline of the battery indicator is starting to peel first. But the actual battery indicator still works. I HAVE NOT had it in the microwave. But from here on out I will continue to hand wash it,

My brother loved all these weird mugs and stuff. He has a mini collection that's growing. He absolutely loved this mug. I originally liked the white mug with the same design, but found this at the last minute. It looks like it is dishwasher safe... it is NOT. My father didn't know that though, so the white lines of the battery came off/shifted. My only problem was that it took 3 weeks to ship. Granted it was around Christmas, but I was hoping it wouldn't have taken that long.

I forgot to tell my husband to not wash this in the dishwasher. As a result, the protective covering on the battery has peeled off, and the paint on the top part of the battery has smudged. However, it still works, and looks battery like. I simply rinse immediately after finishing my beverage to avoid having to scrub this mug. It's been great and my students love watching the battery empty as I drink my drink.

The mug worked great but it arrived broken!
