Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 14 - Playstation 3

I bought this game as a complete newbie to both the Tiger Woods video game series, and the sport of golf. Going in, I felt that golf is not a real sport. I still have my doubts after months of playing this game, but I feel that this has done more to educate me about golf than any number of hours watching it on TV, reading about in books and magazines, or playing lessons.This game is as easy, or as hard as you want it to be. Luckily, playing on the easiest level is only detrimental to those of you who care about the create-your-own-golfer Career mode, as you will be unable to build up skill levels as quickly. For those of you who are merely looking to unlock the legendary players as quickly as possible, this is a godsend.The real gem of this game is the Legends of the Majors mode, which is where those legendary players can be unlocked. For player licensing reasons, there are gaps for those die-hard fans out there (for you Tom Kidd and Greg Norman fans, you're out of luck). For people like me, it did a great job in walking me through the history of the sport, from one of Young Tom Morris's Open Championships at St. Andrews in the 1800's, to Rory McIlroy's 2012 PGA Championship.This "history lesson" is split into six sections, and you can choose which section to start from, leave off at for another, etc. Each "lesson" has different goals for a given event in time, such as duplicating or bettering a player's score during their entire 18-hole greatest game, or replicating a defining shot that won a career-defining championship. What is unlocked after completing each section can be a mixed bag, ranging from just practice courses from a certain era of time, to a legendary player or three unlocked at a given time. In the case of the Big Three (Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, and Jack Nicklaus), you can unlock two different versions of each, at different eras (young and strong, or old and accurate, though in Nicklaus's case, his older self has the better skill set).Now, for the cons: the pay-for-play expansion stuff, namely additional courses, can kill the joy of this game really quickly, especially for those of you who are playing the Career mode mentioned earlier (fewer chances to boost player stats). One set costs $40 for 14 courses, and even then, you'll be missing 4 other courses that you have to shell out another $10 for in an additional set, for a total of $100 or more for a golf game. I'd recommend passing on those expansion packs, unless you have a geeky interest in learning the layouts and differences in golf course design over time (1934 Augusta National vs. 2013 Augusta National, for example). Paying for player boosts would probably be cheaper for those of you needing additional opportunities to build your custom player. This is the major reason for the docked star, since the game isn't cheap to begin with.Also, if you already own a Tiger Woods game within the last three years, a lot of this has either a been-there/done-that feeling, or can turn into a complete let-down (significantly longer load times, and less vibrant graphics were the biggest knocks, based on demo plays of earlier games). It'll take more than a history lesson to cure that sense of golf-game burnout that you might have.Shot mechanics are great for newbies like me in showing how modifying swing motion (back-to-front vs. diagonal in either direction), and where to hit the ball other than directly in the center can change a shot. Burnout Tiger Woods vets have seen this already, and so this game isn't for you.So if I haven't already made it clear by this point, golf game veterans will continue to trash this game as a big money grab, with some merit to their argument, unfortunately. For those of us looking for a Golf-for-Dummies/Rosetta-Stone-of-Golf, it is a perfect tool for learning the basic concepts, and a decent foundation of golf history to boot. Just be sure to double-check the information, since I've noticed that events depicted tend to be off by a year, and some of the events are actually combined from separate incidents in a player's career, for dramatic effect.

Solid Golf Game. Fun to blow off a hour or two with a cold beer. The tutorial for this game is spot on. It actually teaches you what the game expects during your round of golf. IF you had a Tiger Woods PGA 13 account and player, you can upload and continue to develop that golfer.

I have been buying TW video games from the beginning of the series. I usually purchase the PC version if it is available, but finally paid up for the PS3 version. It is by far the best TW I have ever played. You will need to be patient with building your career player into a well rounded golfer. You do have the option of purchasing "coins" to more quickly turn your career player into a pro and purchase addition gear. However after spending the money on the game I don't see why you should have to spend more money to build your golfer and unlock equipment... I thought that was what I was paying for when I bought the game! Other than that I find it to be enjoyable, I even have my wife hooked on it. Final though of platforms; save yourself the headache of buying any PC versions, they can be difficult to get up and running, and from what I can tell don`t have all the features of the PS3 version.

I pretty much only play golf video games and have played all of the Tiger versions for the PS3. This one looks good, the play is decent and I've completed the full PGA TOUR, however, I don't know why I'm unable to purchase the additional courses. Is it because I bought it used from Amazon? Is it because Tiger's real game has gotten so bad that EA sports no longer wants to be associated? It's frustrating that the courses required to complete the PGA TOUR are not included for free to begin with, but now I've mastered the courses and the game is boring. If I could play or purchase the other 15 courses available for this set, I'd get much more enjoyment out of this game. At this point, I don't think I'm going to buy a PS4 because I don't think it's fair to be forced to play the current versions on much more expensive systems. The game was my favorite of the bunch, however it does take a considerable time for the courses to load and it takes 45 minutes to get through 18 holes because of the load and wait time between each stroke and each hole.

I used to ply this series on my PC and when I could no longer play Tiger Woods 08 I had to go to PS3. This was my first game on PS3 and I was not sure what to expect, but after a few days I got the hang of it - and all my fears are gone. GREAT GAME. may even check out more games.

New game as described, works great.

I was eagerly waiting for this edition. I shouldn't have been so eager. While it is admittedly fun to play, it's graphics creators have really delivered a bummer. Every year this series has looked better and better. More realistic, more color saturation has been the motto. However, and this is a big however, Tiger Woods 14 looks lousy. The color saturation is gone. The realism of the courses is gone. What we are left with is a dim picture devoid of crispness. I have a large LED set to play it on and I swear I can't see the stupid ball when it lands on the fairways or the greens. BAD!!!!!!! Who was asleep during the creation of the monstrosity? Where is the color, where is the sharpness, where is the real look that has been present the last few years?One other thing. If you thought that this was a slow game to load from one fairway to another, you ain't seen nothing yet with Tiger Woods 14 You can almost take a nap with the length of time it takes to go from one green to the next tee. Totally unforgiveable !

I've played many of the Tiger Woods games and this one feels like it takes it to the next level. You have to use the feel of the controls to gauge your shot instead of the game giving you an exact percentage of swing, and I like that. It makes you think and it feels like you're out there in the sun with the smell of grass around you trying to line up that 8 foot putt for your first birdie. Its a fitting end to a great franchise.

Pour ce qui est du reste tout est en ordre. C'est juste très plate d'avoir un boîtier cassé.

I was so impressed and happy with the condition of my Tiger Woods 14 and how fast it was delivered to me. It came packaged with everything intacted just as the seller said it would and it looked brand new although it was described as used. I highly recommend this seller and intend on buying more products from them.

タイガーウッズの名を冠した最後のゲーム。操作打感は「12マスターズ」と比べると簡単になった印象が有りましたが、コースのグラフィックは綺麗で、やはり難しいゲームです。コースの収録数も多いし、大満足です。「12」と同様にオーガスタは4日間のピンポジションが収録されてますし。楽しいゲームです。

設定はいろいろとできるんですが、スイングは簡単になっちゃいましたね他のゴルフゲームよりはリアルで充分におもしろいと思います
