All of us use different terms to describe weight plates. Some may refer to XMark Olympic bumper plates as barbell weights, barbell plates, or rubber bumper plates. Whatever you call them…they’re QUALITY Plates. Customers often ask, what is the difference between Olympic plates and bumper plates? Olympic weight plates and bumper plates are similar. The main difference is bumper plates can be dropped. XMark Bumper Plates fit all 2 inch Olympic weight bars including hex, trap, all 5, 6 and 7 ft. Olympic bars and even curl bars. It is important to select a weight plate set that meets your needs. Bumper plate sets will include a combination of 10lb, 25lb, 35lb and 45lb pairs. Keep in mind that the bar weight is in addition to the weight of the sets.

Solid bumper place set at an excellent price
I have had this set for about two years now (as of April 2019). I should say I am using it indoors on the second floor, so I am not dropping or slamming them, but having bumpers gives me options and ease of mind if the landing is a little rougher than intended. (And once my home gym is in a garage, I will be able to drop if I want to). I like the sturdier, smaller diameter 10# plates. I think the knurling on the bar is excellent. Aggressive but not ridiculously so. I think you will be hard-pressed to find a better set for the money. (Note that it was under $600 when I bought it and as of this edit is close to $800) For my purposes this was perfect. Maybe for someone putting 500# on the bar they would expose the limits of it , but I won't be doing that (and according to seller it can handle 1500# and if that is accurate I imagine you won't be exceeding its capacity either). I did pick up some accessories that helped make the set more useful for me. Some quick lock collars. A pair of wedges that perform the function of a bar jack. And a pair of 2.5# and a pair of 5# steel plates so I could make smaller jumps. This set with those accessories is the heart of my home gym.

Great deadlift bar
The barbell and plates arrived perfectly as described. Knurling is pleasantly grippy without being offensive. Great deadlift bar, but if using it for all around powerlifts, be aware that there is no center bar knurling if that’s a dealbreaker for you. Doesn’t hinder squats but it’s user preference. Seller was extremely understanding and helpful when a slight hiccup in shipping a set of the plates occurred, which was not the fault of the seller.

Fantastic quality!
Fantastic product! Packaged well and arrived unscathed. Shipping was surprisingly fast. Ordered on 8/3 and arrived 8/9 (quoted 8/14-8/17.)Barbell spins well out of the box (will be much better after a little lubrication.) Knurling is solid and well suited for both heavy lifts and barbell conditioning. I love the two-tone set up (barbell is black, collars are chrome.)The bumper plates are solid. They seem slightly less dense than the Rogue HG plates, but won't bounce as much as the aggregated/vulcanized rubber. Super happy with these and overall super satisfied with this package.If warranted, will post updated info. Happy lifting!

Sturdy deadlift set

I like the feel and look of the bar
The bees knees. I like the feel and look of the bar. Felt like the package was a good value. I would have rated 5/5 but one of the 25lb plates has a rip on the corner. Looks like too much rubber had been trimmed off.
