I think around 1cmm×1cm. They are very good quality as all the bigjigs toys are. I would highly reccomend them.

Can this stand up vertically without the blocks falling out?

No, It’s not designed to stand up vertically.

Where can i get a replacement number 5?

Contact the company. They just need the serial number on the back of the board.

can you replace the standard 1 to 00 numbers with times tables blocks purchase separately at a later date?

As a former maths teacher I have used 100 boards for many activities including multiplication tables. So if you want to teach the 5 times tables you take out all the multiples of 5 . What’s left on the board will give you multiples all the way up too 100 whilst showing the pattern for the five times tables. To reinforce the whole phrase for the multiple just say the sentence as you either take or replace the number. So 1 times 5 is 5, 2 times 5 is 10 etc.( or your child may have been taught the other way round eg. 5 times 1 is 5, 5 times 2 is 10. Just check before you start so that you don’t confuse them. There are lots of games to be found on the board!
