Q: Anyone know what the extra strap is for?

The extra strap is for sliding your hand into to "counter pull" into your shoulder. It adds stability to your shot. Ever see your grandaddy wrap his strap around his hand before shooting? This is the modern version of that.

Q: What is the bonus item.

The strap? Not sure and it isn't the same width as the other nylon on the sling. Not sure what it's used for.
