These sweet potato chews have been a great healthy treat for my dogs. The ingredients are simple, and I like that they’re made without a lot of unnecessary additives. The chews have a nice texture that keeps my dogs interested without disappearing in seconds. The pieces are a good size for rewarding or giving as an occasional snack, and I feel good knowing they’re getting something nutritious. I’ll definitely be buying these again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a natural treat for their dogs.

These sweet potato dog treats are the BEST! This is my second bag purchase, and my dog loves the taste of them. Nothing but sweet potatoes ingredient and easy to chew; better than those sweet potato fries previously purchased.

Update: 4 Aug 2026 I am here to update my review to one star. I am now on the hunt for another brand of Sweet Potato Chews for my dog. I am so sad. These used to be SUCH good quality and she loved them! I have been ordering these treats for months. In July, I have ordered two bags and both have been bad. Both bags were sourced Vietnam. The first bag was moldy. It was very clear the dehydration process had not been done properly/completed and being shipped from across the world, they probably didn't stand a chance in the heat. I would never knowingly feed something like that to my best friend. I would never risk illness. And, as I can't return this food item, I tossed them, thinking it was a one off. The second bag came in and the chips are dinky, strangely shriveled/twisted, hard as leather and the color is strange compared to previous lots. I have a very strong chewer, and still I am terrified to give these to her. They are definitely a choking hazard. Too small for my dog to hold between her paws while working with it, and big enough to possibly get sucked into her windpipe and lodged as she is trying to eat it. They are weirdly tough, yet not actually brittle, so if they got lodged in her throat, she wouldn't be able to get them up. I have tried to cut them up, but I cannot get a knife through them. So, second bag is getting tossed. I am not going to waste any more money on this brand until the quality control goes up. Perhaps, if some of the chews are being sourced elsewhere, maybe other people are receiving an ok product. The best chews I have gotten from this brand were made in the US, followed by the chews sourced from Peru. They were a healthy sweet potato color and texture, soft enough to be chewed up completely, average-sized and to this point, her favorite treat. As I stated in my previous review, I like to know exactly where my dog's food is coming from. First and foremost it needs to be safe. I am certainly not feeding anything questionable to my furry family member. As you can't choose where your product comes from with this brand, and the quality is consistently bad at this point-I am moving on! Buyer beware. Your mileage may vary, but for us-these are dangerous! Initial Review: My mixed breed dog absolutely loves these. She has a very sensitive stomach and does well with them. Yes, there are different shaped pieces and slices in the bag, but overall, I was able to treat my dog with different shapes no problem. I have been purchasing this exact brand sweet potato chews in the 8oz size from a local store. When I saw that Amazon had them as well and in a larger size to boot, I decided to order online. As my dog does have digestive issues/food allergies as mentioned, I shoot for one ingredient treats when possible. I have to be very picky, because so many things that other dogs can eat can give my dog bouts of colitis/gastritis. My second requirement is that I try to choose treats both sourced and packaged in the U.S.A. The 8oz bags I have been picking up locally clearly state that the potatoes are from the U.S., and that they are packaged here as well. I received the 16oz bag of Wholesome Pride Sweet Potato Chews that I ordered from Amazon today. Although the packaging looks identical in every way that I can see to the 8oz bags I have been buying here locally; on the back of the bag where the manufacturing information lives it now says sourced and packaged in Peru. I rechecked the image on the Amazon page, and the bag very clearly shows that it was a U.S. made product per the photo. I have absolutely no way of objectively evaluating whether one is better than the other. Nor am I saying that the Peruvian chews are not absolutely fine. It is just a personal preference to buy American made when possible and I appreciate the transparency of knowing where both my food, and my dog's food is grown and packaged. I am hoping that the information/images on the Amazon page for this product gets updated to accurately reflect this information. As perhaps others would also like to know where their pet food items are being produced so they can make an informed decision before purchasing.

I purchased this brand of sweet potato but they do fluctuate in being soft or very crunchy. Each bag is different when I do purchase them. I wish the product was more consistent as I have small dogs and prefer when they are more on the chewy side.

My Frenchies LOVE these things. They are my go-to treat for them. However... It's always a crapshoot if you are going to receive a "fresh" batch. As others have mentioned, sometimes they can contain mold, sometimes they are soft and pliable, and sometimes they are so dried out they are like shards of plastic that could be a choking hazard/quite dangerous. Sometimes you get just a whole bunch of peel pieces vs actual sweet potato - which feels like a big waste of money. When you get a GOOD batch, they are decently sized, medium-softness which takes a little longer for the pups to chew/enjoy, vs breaking into smaller pieces and swallowing whole. I feel like they even help with teeth cleaning! My last batch received was the shard style, so I'll have to throw it away. Luckily, if you navigate the Amazon return process correctly and get to the chat-bot, they will issue you a refund. You just have to find the right prompts as it is a food item and will just tell you you can't return your purchase. Wholesome Pride - is anyone reading these comments? Can you fix the quality issues presented multiple times in these reviews? Make sure there's no mold. Make sure there aren't bags filled with crappy peel-pieces only. Make sure they aren't dried to the point of cracking into shards. Thanks!

NATURAL AND ORGANIC MY SHISHAPOMSKY IS SO HAPPY! FRESH AND NUTRITIVE

As expected. No complaints.

I have 2 very small dogs so I cut them in half before I give them to my pups. I also let them dry out a bit before I give it to them so they have to chew a little bit harder🐶

My Golden Retriever gets one at every meal so I always have to make sure I’m not paying too much. She grabs it and takes it to her “special spot” to eat.

Our dog absolutely loves these treats, but need to control how many he gets as they are not inexpensive

Not as tough as other sweet potato chews I have bought. My dogs chew these up in about 2 minutes, so they don’t last very long I guess you get what you pay for.
