Motor Trend MTP220-CCA 20-Foot Jumper Cables with Parrot Clamps, 500-AMP

They are big, thick heavy duty clamps 20ft of 2 gauge wire. I like the fact that they pass enough current to just turn most cars over without waiting to charge the battery up. Also the twenty foot length allows me to pull up behind most small cars and jump them which is convenient if they are blocked on both sides and the front. There are some 25ft sets which might make the long reaches a little easier, but I believe these are a nice match between current and length. Amazon probably beat an equivalent set at the tool store by around 40% on cost as well. Overall very happy I hope to never use a cheap 6 or 8 gauge set again.

The cables are actually 4 gauge and not 2 as stated. However, for the price, they are still excellent cables made from 100% copper. Other brands of similar quality sell for over $80..

I'm giving it two stars because first set received was defective where insulator sleeve was cut, thus exposing conductor. Replacement item received was worse then the first, with insulating sleeve torn and conductor exposed. Both cables posed an electrocution hazard due to exposed conductor. Amazon refunded item after second replacement, stating that they are going to look into it.Poor quality control.

If you are looking for high quality heavy duty jumper cables that will last the rest of your life and jump any battery style without adapters, these are the ones you want.These are very heavy duty and the large gauge of copper in them is plenty to to make car starting easy right after hooking them up. Unless the target battery is completely dead, there's no waiting at all. Hook them up and twist the key.If I needed another set, I'd get these again.

The clamp hinges could stand to be a bit sturdier, fine for in your trunk but if your planning on using them every day I don't think they would last . the cable is of good quality, nice and flexible. For $40 they are worth the money, lower and your getting a great deal any higher you are probably over paying.

Description says solid copper - these cables are copper plated aluminum which makes them $30 cables not $60 cables. I gave 2 stars because of superior clamps. I returned for refund!

Everyone should have a basic emergency kit in there vehicle. Water, first aid, blankets etc.. These cables are very good. Clamps are strong, and you can't go wrong with the 2 gauge thick wires. I recommend this product to anyone who wants great jumper cables. You never know when you may need them! and at 20 FT. You can reach what your trying to jump.

The wires are 2-gauge, but they are not solid copper and the clamps are a little flimsy. However, the springs in the clamps are strong and the cable is quite flexible. The reason I know the wire is not solid copper is because I cut these cables into two 10-foot sections. I then soldered heavy copper lugs on the cut ends. The lug ends I connected to two separate 1600 watt DC-to-AC inverters. Now I'm ready for the next black-out. Most high power inverters don't come with connector cables. I now have two for much less that the pre-made connector cables cost. (Del City was the only place that I found that sold 2-gauge solid copper lugs for a reasonable price.)
