Safari Ltd. Gray Wolf Toy Figurine - Detailed 4.8" Plastic Model Figure - Fun Educational Play Toy for Boys, Girls & Kids Ages 3+

This is one of my very favorite wolf toy models (I also have the black version). It has very good form and fur direction. It has dewclaws, carpal pads, four toes on each foot... everything is nice and accurate.Unlike a lot of other canine models, this one's face was done with careful precision, and doesn't look skewed or have an odd eye looking off to one side. The face details (mouth, nose) aren't just painted on, they're carved in. Mine came a nice shade of black - a bit darker than online pictures showed. The nose, mouth, and claws, eyes, and paw pads are painted in with care. The actual body has several shades of grey spray-painted over a cream-colored base. The paws are white, and so is the muzzle. The fur paint isn't finely detailed, but it is well-done as far as coloration goes. Also, the eyes are more orange than yellow. Overall, it looks amazing. I'd definitely recommend it.Further details: the whole thing is made of a light, very hard rubber. It's not cheep, though, so don't get me wrong. The legs have a bit of give to them, but won't wobble. The company words on the underside are small and almost unnoticeable (except for a small number printed in black). There is a seam where the shoulders meet the body that looks like it was fused together. The fur length and direction is very realistic, and the legs have nice muscle detail.IMPORTANT NOTE: This model is several times as big as most wolf toy models, so keep that in mind when buying. Personally, I really like it bigger; it allowed for more detailing.I'd recommend this to any toy model collector, canine enthusiast, or parent/teacher looking to get something safe and fun for a child.

Even if you usually collect smaller animals/wolves, this one is definitely worth a look! (My measurements have it at about 5 1/2" long (from the edge of the face to the back of the rearmost leg) and about 4 1/2" from the floor to the tip of her ear.) Rather light for the size, but the legs seem strong and are not warped. You can see, if you look hard enough, the seam where the figure is put together (right behind the shoulders) but to me it doesn't really detract much from the figure.... The detail is very nice; shading and texture of the fur, the claws, the face... Mine even has well-painted eyes that match nicely. If mine has any flaws, it's just a couple barely noticeable scuffs.IMO, this is simply one of the best plastic wolves I've seen... Great for anyone who collects wolves (esp on a budget) or a kid that just wants nice animal toys.

I would recommend all the Schleich figures to anyone looking to provide excellent play imagining to their children and grandchildren, very young and older. My great-grandson is less than 2 and really enjoys playing with all his animals. I bought large and small figures so the small ones can be the babies. These figures are well made and with excellent detail so they look very realistic. Children learn quickly the names of the animals, the sounds they make, and the environment they live in. I am completely happy with all my animal purchases.

This wolf is very realistic and anatomically correct, which is hard to find for a wolf toy. The detailing is great! I love the expression on the face, texture of the fur, and even the paw pads on the bottoms of the paws. It's sturdy enough for kids, but detailed enough for an artist or animal lover to admire at any age.

Fits in with my 8in figures

These were for my husband's work. It's a plastic toy, but it's cute and seems to be well-made. His boss was happy with them. They are used for employee give-aways for a product they worked on.
