New Balance Men's M980V1 Fresh Foam Running Shoe

Excellent shoe. I'm a casual runner, something like 2 (fast paced) miles at a time. I do walk a lot. I've only had them for 2 days, but I'm thinking about buying another pair. I'll go over the 2 concerns about this shoe I've read from professional runners/shoe reviewers.1) "Shoe is too narrow". My first walk in them felt tight, but then I just loosened up the laces a bit. That fix everything with the fit. They fit just as good a every other NB I've had (first pair in about 5 years though). Which is to say they fit like a glove. I could probably fall asleep in them if I were so inclined.2) "This shoe is being market as a soft, cushioned ride but it's actually not that at all". Well, I must have had some really horrible shoes recently because these shoes feel extremely soft compared to what I'm coming from. Any softer I probably wouldn't like it. Makes me curious as to what those reviewers consider a soft ride.New Balance has always been a size 12 for me. Other brands, especially european ones, I have to get at size 11.5 or 11. I dont' know if that means these run small or these are true to size and those other brands run large. All I can say for sure is these fit exactly like I would expect a NB size 12 to fit me, like a glove.I didn't like the style at first as show online (blue/yellow, I only bought them because they were $31), but now that I have them in person I do kinda dig it. They are very lightweight and comfortable. If you know you're NB size and the price in your size is right, I say just get them.

Amazon lists 11 color options when I purchased this pair. The pair "Blue" and "Cobalt Blue/Green Gecko" appear to be the same exact shoe. When I entered my size (10.5/2E), the first pair is highlighted. The shoe is white with a seagreen or teal shading on the bottom. I loved that look. When I clicked on the shoe, though, the description was White/Blue. This is a different description than the other two shoes listed above. So, in short, my size brought up only one option, but the label seemed off. And when they arrived today, indeed, they were not that teal color, but the color of the one shoe listed under two different color labels listed below. That was disappointing to say the least. I'm not going to send them back I don't think. It appears this is the only color they have in my size. The only other comment, the 2E width seems a little snug and the shoe seems 'low" in the sense that it presses down on the top my toes. I'm hoping that changes as it breaks in.

I do not wear these to run. They are used more as an everyday, casual sneaker, but I do walk 5 days a week for 30 minutes in them. I ordered these in 11.5 D as I normally wear a size 11 2E (Amazon wasn't offering these in an 11 2E at the time of purchase) and they fit fine in terms of width and the (slightly) increased length doesn't affect me at all either. So if you have a wide width, you should be ok ordering half size up.In terms of comfort, they're one of the more comfortable sneakers I own. The cushioning and support are excellent and I enjoy taking walks in them. May sound odd, but I've found shoes/sneakers that are sometimes too comfy to actually hurt my feet after extended wear, but these do not do that at all. I also like how light they are.They look great, fit great and are super comfortable and I'm very happy with my purchase.

So far, I really like this shoes. They provide good stability and support and offer a really nice cushion. For the money I spent, ($37.00) they were definitely worth the price. They do run slightly large and wide, but this has been my experience with all New Balance shoes when compared to other brands. Really cool color scheme and overall look. The laces on these shoes are a little less than I would have expected. They seem kind of flimsy and thin. Also they seem to be a little longer than probably needed. I've only had these a few weeks, but my overall impression is that they will be good shoes down the road as well. I plan to primarily use these in the gym for training sessions.

I am a HUGE New Balance running shoe fan. They're great shoes and most of the models I purchase are Made in the USA. I alternate between these M980 Foam units and my old standbys the V1080 units... The 1080's give more support, but these are my "recovery" shoes when my knees / hips / feet are killing me... I'm mid-50's and I run 1,000 miles per year, so having a "softer" pair of shoes to rotate through every 300 miles or so is kinda nice!I get the shoes 1/2 size larger than my regular shoes so that my old feet have some room to swell and that seems to work pretty well. Very comfortable on my 9 mile weekend runs and my 6 mile mid-week runs. Laces stay tied too, which is NICE! :-D

I usually get size 10.5D in New Balance shoes, and those have always fit comfortably out of the box. This particular pair of shoes are still tight against the medial and lateral edges of the foot after a couple of weeks of wearing them, but I can feel them getting more loose. And the toes do not have that much clearance which presents as a downward pressure on the toes while walking. I jog in these and they still work great: they are comfortable after a couple of miles, give great support to my higher arches, allow my feet to breath a little, and look awesome.

These are by far my favorite shoes I've ever owned. I would have given them all five stars or even six stars but they do wear out within a shorter time than others but they are EXTREMELY comfortable! I was looking for a very light weight walking shoe and these are amazingly light. I bought two other pairs of New Balance M980WB thinking they would be the same but they just don't feel as comfortable. It may have been a manufacturing issue because they look identical but for me they aren't.

With running shoes other runners will know what a small difference can make and unfortunately these were slightly too narrow for me

i really wanted width 2E , but it still is quite o.k. I have a pair 101/2 2E which are perfect !!! HANS

I'm on my feet at work & do some miles, so my feet take a pounding, but for leisure these fresh foams give me the comfort i need out of hours. Recommend them to anyone.

Scarpe molto belle, comprate con un ottima offerta con spedizione e tutto circa sessanta euro, sono comodissime ,premetto io non sono un corridore le uso in palestra e giusto una corsetta sul tappeto, pero sono comunque molto soddisfatto. qualità dei materiali e assemblaggio ben fatta come tradizione di questo marchio.

le avevo viste in un negozio ma non avevano la taglia.... ero un po' diffidente a comprare un paio di scarpe su internet...ma sono eccezionali...il numero e' quello europeo io ho preso il 12. comodissime un paio di pantofole
