Fitted my Dell Inspiron 3650
The item fitted my Dell Inspiron 3650 SSD drive box perfectly. About 2 years ago the computer came with a 100G SSD 'C' drive, a SSD box with space for 2 SSD drives but only 1 caddy tray bracket. I have now fitted a badly needed larger 'C' drive together with the original SSD as a second bootable device just in case.

Almost, almost
Dell have a nasty habit of shipping a desktop with space for two 2.5" drives, but only supplying a plastic caddy for one. Nor do they make the caddy available for sale separately. That means you can only fit one drive.I found this out with a very expensive Dell XPS 8940, which came just like that. Then I saw this part for sale. I took a gamble and bought one. After all, I reasoned, why would Dell fiddle about with the cage the drives sit it?First impressions were good. It slid into the metal holder just fine! But... it didn't lock into position.Examining the situation, I found that there is a plastic protrusion on the outside of the arms which clunks into a hole in the metal cage when you slide it in, thereby locking the caddy into the cage. On this part, the plastic knob is too wide for the hole in the cage. Now this item is plastic. A sharp knife will probably solve that problem, although I've not tried yet.Otherwise it fits the rails perfectly.So... worth considering if you have a machine other than those listed, but it's a gamble.

It first!
Liked the fact that it fitted in the slot and the SSD drive also fitted. What was missing was instruction to fit the drive into caddy ie, fit in one side and bend the other out until dive slips in. I took the pins out which was a mistake.

Yes- it works well
I like it- easy to use. Fits well in computer. No rattling etc, easy install and when taking it out

Expensive for what it is.
This item is expensive for what is essentially a small piece of injection moulded plastic, but it does the job required.Fitting the drive into the caddy was quite fiddly.

Over priced for a piece of plastic but does do a good job mounting your drive in a Dell computer
I don't like the price but I am happy with the product. I don't think it is OEM, the plastic looks different. However it works perfectly well and does do the job. I found the drive easy to fit and place inside the Dell drive bay without issue.Personally I would just leave the SSD drive floating and spend the money else where, but this install was for my uncle. So I had to do a good job.If I was fitting the drive in a standard case I could get a caddy for a quarter of the price, but because it is for a Dell lets just bang that price up!Ok to be fair if you have a Dell and want this caddy, you can't go wrong with this one.So would I recommend or buy again, well only if I had to for someone else, if it was for me I would find another cheaper solution.

Looks OK but doesn't fit Dell 5040
The product looks fine and I'm sure it would give good service.Unfortunately it is not intended for the Dell 5040 as stated in the description, so I had to return it.Seller was quick to refund.
