Solid, high quality, and looks good
I installed several grab bars in my mother's house, and this one has been the best. It is noticeably heavier than the cheaper ones, and the textured surface gives you a more secure grip, which makes getting into and out of the bath tub safer. That, and the heavier construction, gives a feeling of security for the user. Installation was easy, with enough holes in the mounting plates so you can find one to line up with the wall stud. The brushed stainless steel finish looks nice, and has shown no signs of wear or rust.

The Best Shower Grab Bars
I'm a handyman and I install a lot of grab bars for seniors. I've used several different brands, and the Moen bars are the best I've used. They are made of stainless steel with a welded flange. The mounting system is great, and the ability to used their "SecureMount" system is very helpful. I usually try to find a stud when mounting any safety grab bars, built sometimes their isn't one available in the location the bar needs to be mounted. The SecureMount option is easy to install, and I've tested their mounting strength. I can literally hang from them, and I'm like 220 lbs. The other nice thing is you can do a mixed install with 1 flange screwed into a stud, and the other with a SecureMount, and the flange covers hide any variations on the how much the flange stick out from the wall. My only complaints are: 1-The holes in the center of the flange, under the bar, are hard to get to. I usually don't use those holes to mount the bar, and if I must, I install that screw in the wall first. 2-The included screws are made of stainless steel, which while great from wet conditions(like a shower), makes the the screw a little soft. You need to ensure that you predrill into studs and that you have a good Phillips bit that is seated properly into the screw. I've stripped several screw heads and broken a a few screws before I learned the lesson. That being said, the screws are high quality, that's just the nature of stainless steel. All in all, these are the grab bars to get.

Safety Aid for Elderly
I installed this grab bar in the walk-in shower. I like the slip resistant surface, and the installation was easy. The hardest part was finding the wall studs. This worried me because I did not want any holes in the shower wall, that were in the wrong place. A combination of tape measure (studs are on 16-inch centers) and stud finder convinced me I had the proper location. After that the drilling of the holes and mounting the bar was easy. I like that there are three mounting screws at each end, contributing to stability. After it was complete, I shook the bar with all my strength and there was not even a hint of movement.

Bathroom wall metal bar with grips
It's very good quality - It's thick, study & has good grips. (Just recently installed in the bath tile wall.)

These were easy to install, solid support, clear instructions, and definitely make our shower safer!
I had to totally replace our shower, and wanted to add the safety of strong grab-bars, as aging adds balance and strength issues to the situation. These Moen Peened Grab Bars with concealed screws are just the right thing. The installation instructions are exceptionally clear, and easy to follow. The bars are strong and the mounting brackets are well designed and sturdy. The 'peened' finish on the bars' straight length makes it a much safer grip, so you don't slip when you need to be stabilized. They also look just fine, and the safety reassurance is so much more important than 'designer' style. Plus, they are quite reasonably priced! I definitely recommend them! TIPS: - Mark the line of your studs with 1 1/2" blue painters tape so you can see where they are in your placement area instead of imaging where they might be. - The mounting plates need to center on those studs. - If your shower kit doesn't come with them already attached ($$$!), check with your shower's manufacturer as to where to attach 'backer boards' to reinforce the areas you intend to put your mounts. (I had to do a *lot* of searching to get even remotely clear instructions on this, but finally found it. Added 1x4 and 1x6 pine boards at the specified locations on the back side of my kit. Your mileage may vary.) - Follow Moen's location and installation instructions when placing and anchoring your grab bars! Your safety may depend on these, and you need to trust your work.

The best
Seriously sturdy. The Wirecutter recommended Moen and I'm glad I listened. The 32" bar was easy for the installer to mount on tiled wall and into studs. Proper hardware included.

There were already grab bars in the bathroom; however, I needed an additional one. I chose the same company and found the same finish as the other ones... matched perfectly. It's sturdy and keeps me from falling. The main part is textured allowing more grip (even with soapy hands). Worth the investment. I have tiles in the bathroom. I had a professional install it and it was worth it as it requires a special bit to drill into tiles without breaking them.

Much more solid feel than some other thin grab bars. Requires drilling through tiles into studs.

Too easy to scratch. Scratched during installation with no apparent way of removing the scratches.
