Works good
Must set both sides but works good. Safe for animal. (Cover trap with towel to keep animal calmer when handling) I had a chipmunk in the house brought in by my cat so glad to have for the next occasion

Not a Good Trap for Mice
A royal pain to set trigger. It is either too sensitive or wont trigger. Mice just eat the peanut butter and dont trigger. Only thing Ive caught is a small bird. Had these before and the larger traps worked but this one is not great for mice. Too late for return. I thought Havahart was good but wont be buying from them again

Works great
These are the ones that actually work. Moved to the woods, mice were here first. Invasion. Tried all kinds of traps and these keep on working. Gotta use brains about where the mice run, it's really an art to figure out their patterns.

This is a great design over the years but this one needed adjusting
Did not open this right away but when I did the trigger pad was not pre installed.. i think it is also upside down, so far I cannot get the loose side into the proper hole opposite the other side which trips the doors. I did work on it later with a long handled needle nosed pliers .. flipped the inner trigger platform and got the sides lined up with the horizontal brace. The brace on the external trip arms side did not stick out enough to catch those arm ends. The inner trip platform had to be completely horizontal across to engage both sides of the frame and flip easily. In th past i have had the one door entrance but this evidently has both ends open which means it allows the mouse to enter either end and as it goes over the central platform it should move it enough to release the outside trip arms for both doors at the same time. I did not notice that and used the one door open system in the past. But it works if both doors release quickly. Then load the bait gently .. you might try doing it before setting it but it might put the inner platform in a bind if some gets underneath it. The instructions say nothing about when you load bait. The system is a hair trigger once set so moving or positioning it should be done carefully …. On line videos make it look easy but that is from someone who uses these clever devices. I am familiar with them so I know what it should do but i am not sure anyone who has never used one would set it up with such ease. Of course on the box the pictures of what one looks at are small and the three steps not always clear in a small photo. Such live traps are better than poisons which another animal might eat or having one crawl off and die behind you wall and stink for a while. Thee are newer ones of plastic but I am more familiar with this mechanism.

Very good trap for one at a time
It really works, where others don't. My only complaint is it has a hair trigger. If there is any weight on the food platform, it's very hard to set it without it closing. Feels like working with nitroglycerin.

Easy to use and 100% Effective
I have used this trap twice already and have successfully caught 2 mice. I only open one door and leave the other one closed. I put a little peanut butter on a cracker and place it all the way in right behind the closed door to make sure the mouse walks all the in and steps on the trigger plate. This trap is well built and completely humane. I’ve successfully re-homed 2 nice completely unharmed. If you’re looking for a humane mouse trap to catch and release, look no further. Be sure to release the mouse 5 or more miles from your home into a big wooded or land area to make sure it can’t find its way back to you. I prefer releasing it in a wooded area so it at least can find refuge in nature and food.

Effective
It was tricky to get it set up. You have to get it set just right so the trap doors stay open while you place the trap where you want it. Once you do that, it works like a charm! I knew I had a mouse in my car because food items, left in the car while camping, got nibbled. I had left a few raisins in the car after returning, and they disappeared. So baited this trap with raisins. Caught the little mouse after a few hours. I took the trap across to a wooded area and let the poor mouse go. Hope I won't need it again, but it was perfect for a mouse.

This is NOT a mouse and rat trap.
It is much too small for rats. It is a mouse, shrew, and vole trap. Beware of this seller. Also, their "free returns" policy is to deduct outbound and return shipping costs from your refund.
