My cateye is 9 years old and after hibernation for the winter It is now blank. Can batteries be changed on it?

Should be able to. Slide off the head unit. There is slot on the back a quarter will fit in, turn counter clock wise. The battery will say on it what size it is. If you do not have the information sheet for setting it up, just search online. It won't tell you. But if it will not respond or you need to reset it. Remove the battery, flip it over for a second, then flip back over.

Can you reenter the total miles if it is cleared?

I haven't tried . I like to keep my total miles. There is an extra step to clear total otherwise I would have definitely done it by accident. Really like this computer though
