Firstly, I AM an audiophile (at least, your crowd would consider me to be). I have owned several pairs of really good headphones, my favorite being a pair of $300 Argon modded T50RPs. And I think this headset is really good for the price. I have this review organized into different parts, so you can just to a particular section if you want, but I recommend reading the entire review (not just for mine, but for all reviews). -PACKAGING AND STUFF- The headphone comes in a foam sleeve for protection, which you can just slip off. It comes with two cables, a longer braided cable with a volume wheel and a mic mute button, and a slightly shorter rubber cable with a button meant for phone use. It also comes with a y-splitter which is for compatibility purposes with some PCs, but you won't be using this because you'll be using the USB dongle it comes with to use that Blue Voice technology. It also comes with a very nice carrying bag made with a similar material to some sweat pants, and an alternate pair of velour ear pads (velour is a soft and breathable material). -BUILD/COMFORT/ISOLATION- This headphone is really well built, with hard plastic cups and a metal headband covered with pleather. The cups also have a protruding machined metal circular G logo that reflect in the light, which you'll either love or hate. The headband could use a bit softer padding, but it isn't terrible. The ear pads fit over my ears perfectly, and seal very well. The good seal comes from the tighter clamping force of this headphone. Clamping force is just how tight the headphone is on you, and the nice thing about having a metal headband is that you can always bend the top of the headband back a few times to alleviate the clamping force (while still being careful) if it's too tight and uncomfortable for you. The pads are soft and thick enough to provide standard comfort for us audio nerds, but if you're used to crappy and uncomfortable headphones then this will be a a godsend for you. A quick note about the "noise cancelling" Amazon is asking me to review: this are not noise cancelling headphones. Noise cancelling (also called active noise cancelling, ANC) is when the headphones emit a frequency that tries to negate long and consistent sounds, such as airplane noise. These do have fantastic noise isolation, which is when the headphones have such a good seal that it's harder to hear outside noises, even with nothing's playing. That's why I gave the "Noise Cancelling" 3 stars, because that's not what this has. -MIC- To be clear; I'm a headphone guy, not a mic guy. That being said, while this definitely won't compare to an expensive $150+ XLR mic setup, the mic on this headphone sounds really good, and I can't imagine any headset around this price having as good of a mic. At least, that's what I got from all of the comparison videos and reviews I watched before buying these. But where this shines is the software, allowing you to tweak the sound of your mic on the Logitech G Hub software. Like many others, I personally like the preset "Broadcaster 2", but there are other presets too, including ones for people with high pitched loud voices or high pitched soft voices (as well as low pitched voice equivalents). Basically, there are a lot of presets to choose from and you can further tweak the settings if you want, creating the best sound profile for your voice. -SOUND QUALITY- REALLY good for the price. The sound overall is smoother and more natural than a pair of $150 headphones I own (AKG K552 MK2). While I have't tested the sound extensively and compared it to all of my headphones, from what I can tell the sound signature is mostly neutral. This means that you won't have higher or lower frequencies that are much louder than others (Beats headphones, for example, have much louder bass than everything else). This is generally good in a headphone, but if you wanted to boost the bass (or any other frequency) you can change the EQ in the G Hub Software. The soundstage isn't very big, which means that it sounds like everything is in a small room with you rather than a few rows back in a concert hall like it would if there was a big soundstage. While most people would prefer having a large soundstage when playing games, it really comes down to personal preference. The stereo imaging is very good on these headphones too. Nothing game changing or absolutely amazing, but it does what it's supposed to and doesn't have any weird quirks like a pair of headphones I listened to at one point. This is really important though: please don't click "Enable Surround Sound" in the G Hub Software. This enables virtual surround sound, which doesn't really do anything when it comes to positional audio, but it does decrease audio quality by a little bit. Virtual surround sound is basically a scam, even the ones that do change the sound only over-exaggerate the imaging to unrealistic proportions, and will require you to get used to the new exaggerated sound. Games already have their own positional audio system, and exaggeration done by software is an alteration not intended by the sound team for that game. Headphones with "real" surround sound that have multiple drivers per cup will pretty much always sound worse compared to similarly priced headphones with one driver per cup (stereo headphones), because each driver will be and sound cheaper, and doesn't help positional audio because they're all in the same cup anyways. I purchased this headset for my teen son who uses it exclusively for watching YT vids and with multi player games. I purchased at the end of July. The headset has been great. I did not want a headset with a wireless bluetooth connection, as that "tech", which I use loosely, is marginal at best. I am not a fan, and welcome ANY other wireless technology that is NOT bluetooth. The other benefit is the separate removable pin to usb cable. This is for the 7.1 surround sound. This, in my opinion, is a key feature. Why? Skip to mid Nov, where the pin mysteriously becomes bent. Simultaneously, my son was complaining about a low volume, so I purchased a new pin to USB cable from Logitech. This didn't solve the issue with the low volume. Logitech provides free software that is used to adjust headset volume controls. This was news to me, which I discovered this morning (1 week to xmas), when I phoned Logitech support. The initial woman and tech fellow with whom I spoke to resolve the issue was AWESOME! I didn't have to wait, provide proof of purchase, none of that. We went straight to the software on the PC to get to a resolution. I unselected the noise reduction, increased the volume to 100%. For some reason it was set to 70%, which more than likely contributed to the low volume, and did seem to resolve the issue. Aside from the amazing customer support, which is important, the headset is very comfortable. I am not a user of over the head earphones, but these fit me well. My son wears them for hours on end, with no complaints. We are on the small size, under 5'5", so have smaller noggins. He raves about the microphone quality, which is very good. This element is quite difficult to find in lower end headsets. I am thrilled Logitech support was able to resolve the low volume issue. We've had this set for 5 months, and no issues with the cushioning or any other aspect of this well constructed product. We are no audiophiles, so I am not measuring this on specific sound characteristics. If you are mainly watching videos and gaming, this is a great option at a moderate price point. Not cheap, but not over 100. I will update once I receive the report from my son, on his impressions of the adjustments made. If he is not completely satisfied, we will simply call Logitech support back and see what they recommend. I would buy these again, but luckily, fingers crossed, the issue was resolved!! We've gone through 4 headsets over the past 3 years, so I am just about done with buying these things. I hope this helps!

Construction: I collect a lot of headphones and got these as a replacement for my G635 that broke. The construction is very very nice. It's a heavier headset with a lot of aluminum. Directly comparable to the original HyperX headset as far as I can tell. I think the clamping force is a little aggressive but the ear pads make up for it. It's by no means uncomfortable. The headband is leather all around and has a metal band within. The earcups have a rubbery texture on the outside, which I found to attract fingerprints. Nothing that doesn't wipe off easy. It comes with 2 sets of pads, both a velour/fabric type of earpads and a set of leather ones. By default mine had the leather pads on it. They are not quickly changeable however, as the design that holds the pads to the cups is this plastic lip that you really have to finesse the pads onto. Takes about 2 minutes but it's tedious and you'll probably pick a set and put the ones you don't use into the VERY nice padded bag that comes with the headset. Included is also the removable microphone. It comes with 2 cables, one for PC and one for mobile. Both cables have little blue tags showing what end plugs into what. The PC cord has a volume wheel on it which is nice. The mobile cable is your standard fare with an in-line microphone and a button presumably for answering phone calls and basic functions. PC cable is a thick braided cable. Mobile cable seems to be a bendy rubber and seems durable enough, but might be more prone to splitting in the future. Time will tell. You also have an included DAC (digital to analog converter) which is a fancy term for a USB dongle that you plug the headphone jack in with. You do not need to use this but we'll get to that later. Sound: First off, the mic is amazing for a headset. For reference I regularly use a Blue Yeti and have a few Pyle brand microphones built for recording instruments. The sound quality is not actually the quality of a Blue brand microphone but the processing effects you can apply will make it sound almost as good to the untrained ear. Plosives don't seem to be an issue, but you do need to be careful that you keep it a good distance from your mouth if you want a good clean sound with no distortion. This is true for any mic but it's especially noticeable when you have Blue Voice enabled. The sound that comes out of this headset is average, and just a little too much bass with DTS turned on. With DTS off, it sounds tinny. I'm going to provide an unpopular solution for that here which is if you want better sound, plug these into a sound card, or an external amplifier, to get the most out of these. I found it very hard finding a middle ground with audio. If you LIKE bass these are wonderful, and you won't have a problem. They are closed back but they do have what I think are slots on the sides to allow air to move behind the 50mm drivers. Optimal noise cancelling can be found with the leather pads, and you will get a slightly more open sound with the fabric pads. Okay on the subject of sound we need to talk about that DAC I mentioned. Honestly the only reason I'd ever recommend using it is for the microphone features, but if you're using an external microphone like I am, I strongly recommend you forego using this. I couldn't find specs for it anywhere but I feel like it's just BARELY putting out enough power to drive the headphones. Sound seems louder and more clear using my computers motherboard audio (I have a Z170-A from Asus). Tested in both USB 2 and 3 ports and it's consistently not enough power. It's a shame that you have to use the USB DAC if you want Blue Voice as it actively hurts the sound the headphones can put out. To top this off, compared to the G635 it feels like my EQ settings are barely doing anything. It is always bass heavy and the mids and highs do not stand out from the mix. There's no distortion but your frequency response won't feel great. TL;DR: This is a great headset. A little too bass heavy and you're forced to use an underwhelming USB DAC if you want Blue Voice. Those problems aside, the constructions is wonderfully done, and this is a comfortable headset if you can get over the clamping force. You will get crazy good microphone quality for a gaming headset. If the issues I listed aren't a problem to you, I recommend giving this a shot. -Q

I've owned dozens of headphones over the past 20 years and have demo'd quite a few more. This review will is aimed at a more flat EQ sounding experience. Out of the box, these aren't bad. I did hours of testing & changing & adjusting EQ's to make these sound accurate. The default didn't feel accurate at all to me. I wound up going with the FPS EQ setting which provided the best natural sound for all listening experiences. Games, movies, music etc. The next thing I did was try the surround sound mode that is enabled in the Logitech G Hub software. Let me be honest and say it's absolute GARBAGE! Lmao! If you bought these headphones and have no other means of surround sound capability and that's what you got them for...return them. The surround sound in the Logitech G Hub software is unbelievably bad. Muffled, too muddy sounding, and the clarity of the content is completely lost. I turned it off immediately and went with the DTS Headphone X I had previously, which YES, do work with this headset. You have to enable it in the sound settings under the device properties. I have both Dolby Atmos (which also sound amazing with these headphones) but liked the positional spatial sound of DTS more. How does the mic sound? Unbelievably good! I love being able to hear myself since these are closed back and I didn't want to disturb my wife when the gaming action gets hot. For the EQ setting under the mic settings, I went with my own settings. Attached a pic of what I used. These work beautifully with Discord and OBS or just flatout for gaming in general. Went from Sennheiser PC360's and am quite pleased. For an all-in-one setup, these are worth it. HUGE DISCLAIMER I need to add that I probably would NOT get these if I was going to use them on a console as the software that makes them great is not supported. If you are looking for headsets for console, do a search for something that is designed from them right out of the box and save your money.

This headset has some strong hardware features, but the lack of proper software support really hurts the overall experience. The build quality feels solid, and the included accessories like the extra ear pads and USB DAC are nice additions. Sound quality is decent for gaming and voice chat, and the microphone performs well for communication. The biggest issue is with Logitech’s handling of software features, specifically the advanced EQ. It is frustrating that this feature is limited to certain models and even then only on specific versions, while the wired version is left out. What makes it worse is that newer models still do not include the advanced EQ that was promised, which makes the whole lineup feel inconsistent and poorly supported. It feels like features are being restricted rather than improved, which is disappointing from a brand that used to be more reliable in this space. Because of that, even though the headset itself is usable and well built, the lack of follow through on software support and missing features significantly lowers the overall experience. Considering the inconsistency in features and broken expectations, the value for the money feels poor, and I would not recommend it based on my experience.

Pretty much a jack-of-all-trades in terms of performance, quality, etc. Does everything pretty well and has a lot of nice features like 7.1 surround and 50mm audio drivers. It comes with a carrying bag and a set of fabric ear pads in case you don't like the leather ones (the leather ones are better IMO) The mic sounds decent, nothing to rave over but its better than most for the price. Audio quality is great, not a whole lot of bass but that's by design. Fairly good in games like Rainbow Six Siege where listening to sounds is crucial. The one thing that could use work is the software support. Its ok, but the biggest offender is the surround sound toggles within the Logitech software. Most of the time when enabled the audio will sound tinny and distant (like hearing through a wall) basically very flat audio. Its pretty much unusable for me for 99% of applications. I have no idea if its a software issue, firmware issue, or just user error but nevertheless its something to keep in mind. Comfort wise its very comfortable even during long sessions. Its well padded in all respects. Overall, It's a great headset with a few quirks but nothing crazy. One of the best wired headsets I've used to date (coming from older Astro and Turtle Beach headsets) 10/10

I had purchased the Logitech G Pro a bit more than a year and a half ago and was generally satisfied with it, but the vinyl of the headband was starting to wear out so I decided it was time for an upgrade. I had liked the fit and style (not too aggressively Gamer™️ looking like some other headsets) so I decided to go for an upgrade in the same line and chose this. The higher price of the Pro X definitely at least translates to a higher quality look and feel. The old Pro felt a little bit plastic-y and kinda rattled around if gently shaken, and these are an upgrade on both counts. They look more professional with the metal accents on the earcups and stitching on the headband (which is also textured to feel more like leather than the old thin vinyl), and are tensioned to hold the earcups together when you aren't wearing them so they don't rattle and aren't as cumbersome to handle. I will say that the tension is a little tight on my head, but that might become less of an issue as they break in a little bit. The one thing I do miss about the old Pro are the microsuede ear pads. I live in a tropical location so leatherette/vinyl ear pads usually feel sticky and sweaty so I was hoping the velour ear pad option on the Pro X would be the same as the microsuede ones, but they are not. They're a bit fuzzier feeling than I'd like so my ears get kinda warm in them even though they are supposed to be breathable. I see some other reviews mention receiving a faulty mic but I at least am pleased to say that mine worked fine straight out of the box. As for sound quality, the included usb DAC actually makes a huge difference in sound quality when combined with the equalizer in the G Hub software. Straight out of the box with no EQ tuning they sounded a little tinny and weak on the bass, but adjusting it a bit made a massive improvement and now switching back to my old headset to compare is like night and day. I'm no audiophile so I can't say how well they stack up to non-headset headphones specifically made for music listening in this price point, but with the sound card they're definitely miles better than my old ones. I'm also not much of a FPS player so surround sound isn't as much of a concern to me so I'll leave rating that up to the other reviews. Edit 4/28/21: So it's been about 8 months since I bought these and I'm overall still satisfied, but the vinyl of the ear pads is beginning to wear off on one side, which is a little annoying. Admittedly they're getting a lot more daily use than my last pair due to working from home meaning I'm wearing them nearly all day (upside: plenty comfy to do so, no complaints there), but there is nothing worse than vinyl flaking everywhere so the pads had to go. The velour backup pads that came with the headphones are too fuzzy and bother my ears so I ended up replacing the pads entirely with Brainwavs Large Ovals (here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MFDT894/). They are a little bit of a stretch to actually get them on and they are shaped differently than the OEM ones, but they DO fit and are pretty comfy too.
