Great investment
They arrived in the mail today, and I was immediately surprised by how much sturdier and heavier than I thought they would be. They look like they're made to take a beating, so quality seems like it will be a non issue but if there ever is one it seems like the company prides itself on customer service and will send new ones without questions based on what I've read. I also decided that there would be no chance in Hell I would be able to use the extremes, so I would HIGHLY recommend just starting with the normal ones to see if you have the hand size. After doing my first workout with these I was shocked by how effective they were. My grip and forearms were dying after my first couple sets. They will definitely take some time to get used, but I could see this being immensely beneficial to forearm development and grip strength. Because it made my lifts more challenging though, I had to drop weight and my form wasn't exactly the best. I'm not sure what the standard protocol is on when to use them, but I think they would be best used in rotation to make sure the forearms and hands are getting time to recover and to focus on form. For the first month I might use them in the majority of my workouts to make the adjustment, but I myself will probably go on and off with my weeks when I use them. Another thing to consider is that if you're someone who likes to superset like myself, you might want to consider getting two pairs. Maybe they'll go on easier after I break them in, but I found myself playing around to get them on the bar longer than I would like. Remember though it's not proper etiquette to hog equipment, and I found myself drawing a lot of attention using them so there's always the possibility someone might try and steal them. My final opinion is that they are awesome. Immediately felt the effects of them, and they are really well made. I've been lifting for probably 10 years now, and I don't think I've ever experienced something that worked my grip and forearms this way. Even my buddy who is a personal trainer at one of the top clubs in Minneapolis had nothing but good things to say about them, and he told me research has shown they enhance muscular development. They might seem a bit steep in price, but I figure an investment on bettering yourself pays back more than what it costs.

These turned every lift into a grip strength audit
I love these. Full stop. I added the Fat Gripz Pro to my training thinking theyโd be a nice accessory. What I got instead was a very humbling reminder that my grip strength was doing a lot less work than I thought. They slide onto barbells, dumbbells, pull-up bars, and pretty much anything you can grab, and instantly make every movement harder in the right way. Curls feel different. Rows feel different. Even warm-up sets suddenly demand attention. Your forearms light up fast, and your hands have no choice but to get stronger. The material feels durable and secure, not squishy and not slippery. Once theyโre on the bar, they stay put. No spinning, no shifting, no constant adjusting mid-set. Theyโre thick enough to actually change the movement but not so bulky that they feel awkward or unsafe. What I appreciate most is how simple they are. No setup, no learning curve, no gimmicks. You just put them on and lift like normal, except now your grip, forearms, and overall muscle activation are working overtime. If you lift regularly and want an easy way to make your workouts more effective without adding more weight, these are absolutely worth it. I use them constantly and theyโve earned a permanent spot in my gym bag. 5 stars. My forearms hate me and thatโs how I know theyโre working.

Very good niche product for the gym
I ordered these on Prime day and saved a few additional dollars. I just finished my first arm workout with them and I was impressed. I've worked out off and on for 25 years. Religiously for about 10 years and then sporadically after marriage and my career took up more of my time. I can't remember when I had a better biceps pump after a workout. Fat gripz challenged my arms in a completely different way than what I am used to. Some free and hopefully helpful advice and my thoughts on some of the reviews and comments I've read here. First, a few people have used the term "snake oil" to describe this product implying that it is fraudulent. I believe continued use of these will give you very good results. I've been lifting long enough to be able to tell if something will work for me fairly quickly. That being said - in lifting like most all things in life positive results do not come overnight. You have to consistently put in the time and effort. Aside from training hard you also need plenty of rest and good nutrition to get the most out of your body. If you haven't been lifting very long you should probably stick with the basic dumbbell and barbell curls until you gain strength and arm development. I would then try these after you reach a sticking point in your arm training. You get bigger and stronger by confusing your muscles i.e. when they begin to adapt to an exercise and load you do something different. I used these on an Olympic barbell and a set of York dumbbells. No slipping on either one but there was a small gap in the fat gripz that didn't affect me at all. I lifted with the gap out of contact with my hands and also with the gap touching my hands and it didn't make a difference to me. I typically use chalk when I work out and these have a nice tackiness to the material that is easy to grip without chalk, resin, etc. Elite level lifters in a variety of strength sports have been using thicker (larger diameter) bars for some time now to increase strength. Those bars can cost hundreds of dollars. You can get most of the same benefits with fat gripz at a fraction of the cost. These aren't essential to getting big and strong. You can definitely get there without fat gripz but I like them and feel they are well worth the cost as an addition to my home gym. I also do grip strength exercises and feel these will help in that area as well. Bottom line for me - adds a new dimension to my workout program, seem to be very durable, and are not too expensive. I don't regret my purchase at all. I went from being pipe cleaner skinny in high school (135 lbs) to 6'5" 275 lbs thanks to working out. I'm far from an expert but do know a thing or do about lifting - most of the negative comments about this product seem to come from people who may not know as much about lifting as they like to think they do. I rely on reviews when purchasing products. These have almost 1500 reviews with the majority of them being overwhelmingly positive. That tells me something. These also come in a package that states - "For maximum results and safety do not use these until you visit fatgripz.com/secret. That is the only part I'm not satisfied with. If they have information they want to share they should include it in the packaging. I went to the website and they want you to download a file to view the big secret and learn how to use these safely. Well, I'll pass on the download. I think I can get the results I expect and frankly, if you can't figure out how to use these safely you might want to pursue a hobby that doesn't involve lifting heavy weights.

Practical Addition to the Gym Bag โฆ
Like a lot of powerlifters/bodybuilders, my gym bag is loaded with personal โessentialsโ that play an integral part of my workout regimen (knee sleeves, wraps, chalk, bar clamps, bands, etc.). Iโm always open-minded to adding new gadgets that may supplement my workouts and decided to buy a pair of FAT GRIPZ. I am impressed with the results Iโve experienced since incorporating these grips and I find a way to implement them into every workout. WHAT THEY ARE: FAT GRIPZ are cylinders made of a rubber-like compound that are meant to be placed around a bar to provide a wider grip surface for enhancing grip/forearm strength. A lengthwise slit on the grips make it easy to add/remove the grips from bar. FAT GRIPZ fit snuggly around most Olympic bars, but I find them working well with thinner bars, certain dumbbells, ropes, pulley attachments and certain stationary machines (Hammer, Smith, Cybex, etc.). WHY I LOVE MY FAT GRIPZ: - What I like best about the FAT GRIPZ is that they add versatility to most any exercise that involves a bar-like gripping platform. Easy to attach and remove, I bring them with me through the entire workout to add dimension to and existing exercise or create new exercises. Using them for standard lifts like bench press, deadlifts and shrugs adds a notable dynamic to the lifts in terms of difficulty and muscle engagement. - Portability โฆ you can bring them to every exercise with the same convenience of a water bottle or lifting belt. - Durable construction and safe to use. FAT GRIPZ are solid and well-made. I can literally see these grips lasting my entire lifting-life. The rubber-like compound offers a solid gripping surface that not only eliminates the need for chalk, but adds a better grip to older bars with worn knurling. Of course, any gym exercise involves an element of danger, especially when weights are involved. FAT GRIPZ are safe โฆ when used properly and with a degree of common sense. Users should know the dynamics of push/pull exercises to determine which way the slit is facing (toward the palms for pulling exercises and away from the palms for pushing exercises) to avoid the grips from popping off โฆ or knowing when NOT to use the grips. - The grips can enhance most any workout, regardless of your lifting โcategoryโ: powerlifting, bodybuilding, Crossfit, Olympic lifting, strongman, etc. It doesnโt take long to yield noticeable results. No, Iโm not talking about Mr. Olympia forearms showing-up after a few weeks, but more the subtle creep of increasing hand grip/pinch grip strength and a noticeable increase in stabilization when handling Olympic Bar presses (flat/incline/decline and military presses). FAT GRIPZ take some time to get used to in the beginning โฆ and you likely wonโt be able to load as much weight to many exercised. As someone who could deadlift over 600 lbs. in competition, simply pulling 315 off the floor with FAT GRIPZ was not easy because my grip was confined to a pinch hold that made it hard to hold the bar for any extended period. Pushing exercises are much easier, but the wide grip will challenge your wrist/forearm stabilization โฆ Iโll use the grips for reps, but not for a max press. EXERCISES THAT I FOUND USEFUL FOR FAT GRIPZ: - Olympic Bar: flat/incline/decline bench press (for reps, not max), J.M. presses, close grip, military press, deadlifts and shrugs, curls. - Dumbbells: not all dumbbells will accommodate FAT GRIPZ, but pretty much any dumbbell exercise will work (using common-sense, of course) - Odd bars: I find the FAT GRIPZ working well with specialty bars that are thinner than standard Olympic Bars. Yes, the grips may rotate on an inert bar, but should not rotate when the exercise starts (the resistance of the weight will keep the grips in place). - Cable machines: I find the grips fitting a myriad of cable attachments and if the grips fit the attachment, they can be used for a variety of exercises from rows, pull downs, curls and extensions. - Free standing machines: I can apply the grips to most any of my gymโs plethora of Hammer Strength, Cybex and Smith machines. - Pull-up bars and anything else the grips fit โฆ Iโll try it. No other gym tool Iโve used have the versatility of the FAT GRIPZ. This is one of the best products for working out Iโve ever owned. A final word of advice: Start out with the standard (blue) FAT GRIPZ before โgraduatingโ to the EXTREME (orange) FAT GRIPZ (unless your hands are abnormally large). These grips should be challenging enough, the orange grips are a big step up in difficulty.

THE best workout investment you can make!
When I first heard about these "specialty lifting tools", I have to admit, I was more than a little skeptical! I mean, c'mon, how much of a difference can a pair of rubbery-looking pads that seem to go on a bar or a pair of dumbbells truly make? Aren't they just gonna slide around and break down due to compression when lifting and the "sandpaper effect" when rubbing on the grips of the bar? Well, I am here to tell you, I couldn't have been more wrong! Here is a list of what I feel are great advantages about having these and any disadvantages as well! Advantages: 1. Easy to order and great packaging. As always, ordering from Amazon is a breeze and the Fat Gripz come in easy-to-open packaging. I had no problem getting it on time and in perfect condition! 2. Great feel and easy to use. The Fat Gripz are made from a heavy duty compound that doesn't allow it to compress at all while lifting but is workable enough to get it on and off any equipment you want to use it on without any problems! PERFECT! 3. They challenge you. Yes, you read that right, these jump out of the package and immediately challenge you to a fight! They look so innocent out of the package, you think that you can start lifting normally with them, but you immediately find out how wrong you are! They work your forearms, biceps, triceps and every other part of your arm in ways you never knew possible! Your arms will be screaming after each and every workout, and with less weight than what you're used to! 4. They are well built! These little buggers are tough and willing to take any abuse that you throw at them! I've dropped weights on them, moved them from barbell to dumbells and back with ease! I haven't seen any wear or tear from these at all, and I've had them for well over two years! Can't get much better than that! 5. They are the perfect size! They can be used anywhere and brought with you wherever you go, without worrying about them taking up space! They fit any dumbbell, barbell, etc without hassle and are colorful enough and large enough to be seen so you don't forget them on your way out of the gym! Just don't let that guy watching you from across the gym get too close, yeah, he's jealous! ;-) Disadvantages: 1. I couldn't find any! Seriously, I haven't had one problem with these for as long as I've owned them and I couldn't be more happy to have them. I've learned to incorporate my Fat Gripz in just about every workout I do and can feel the difference! If there is one thing you can do to help you with your workouts in the future, it is to invest in a pair of Fat Gripz and incorporate them into your workout! It is money well spent and will help increase your efficiency in your workouts, guaranteed! Lift wisely, my friends!

Turns any bar into a thick bar!
This is a simple yet great piece of equipment that greatly enhances and diversifies your training regimen. The ability to instantly turn any bar/handle into a thick bar in a few seconds without the need for actual thick bars is the greatest reason to purchase a pair of Fat Gripz! Initially I was turned off by the $40 price tag for a couple pieces of rubber and contemplated doing a diy project and making some myself. But, after reading several reviews, thinking about what type of material would be a suitable replacement for making my own and the price for buying actual thick bars, I decided these were well worth the price. Here are my overall thoughts... PROS: - Turn anything into a thick bar and creating a greater challenge to build your arms and grip strength - No real need to do separate work to build forearms or grip strength as using these for any of your push, pull, curling exercises will really tax your forearms and build your grip strength - Very tough and durable material. Even as hard as you can squeeze they don't not seem to lose their shape - Once you attach it to a bar, it stays on. I've never feared them coming off during my sets - Smooth surface but still very grippy. I actually prefer not to wear gloves when using my Fat Gripz as I feel like my gloves actually makes it a bit more slippery CONS: - Pricey. It's a couple pieces of thick, durable rubber. But, most major competitors are priced similarly and as mentioned more cost effective than having to buy a bunch of separate thick bars - You do notice a bit of rubber odor especially when handling without gloves but nothing that is too noticeable or of concern Overall, I am very satisfied with my Fat Gripz. I've used them for a little over a week and have really felt how they've worked my hands and forearms. For anyone seeking to take their training to another level through the use of thick bars but don't want to buy a bunch of new bars, Fat Gripz are definitely a great option.

Made a big difference for my grip strength
Pardon my unorganized thoughts, but here you go: I bought them on sale, so I wasn't too invested in them being amazing or completely changing my workouts. I just had read about them and figured hey, why not. So at first I tried them at the end of a shoulders/bi/tri workout, almost as an afterthought. Meh, I thought, granted I used lighter weights (because I had read that these will cause you to do that) but they seemed easy enough. After that I barely used them for a month. Then last month I noticed them laying among some of my plates and was like oh yeah, let's give these things a fair shake. So I loaded them up for biceps and triceps isolation exercises, and holy crap. After almost dropping them on a triceps exercise I retired them for the rest of the workout. My forearms ached and my hands were so tired I had trouble gripping onto my water cup. I have VERY small hands. Like Men's size small gloves are often too big in the fingers. My grip strength is not the best, although pull ups and deadlifts have been improving my grip drastically. But these have changed my grip strength quite a bit. I especially noticed it on deadlifts (note: I was not using them for deadlifts, but my grip is MUCH better after using fat gripz on other exercises for a month). I noticed it again recently when doing some standing dumbbell calf raises (without fat gripz obviously). Often I am so focused on the calf raise, I let the weights "dangle" in my hands. But now I keep a firm grip on them while I do the calf raises, and I am not even thinking about it that much. I also feel like fat gripz "resets" your weights. If you are strong person who is reaching the upper limits of a home gym setup, then this may reset your weight limit and you'll get some new life out of your dumbbell set. Suddenly that 45lb dumbbell is too much, and you go down to 30. I am not that strong, so for me-- I was moving into 30lb curls. Now a long workout with fat gripz, and I never do more than 20lbs (and until recently I was frequently dropping down to 15lbs in second half of workout). I have not used them on my bar or pullup bar, partially because I am just concentrating so much on form and technique that I don't need to worry about dropping the weight (or my body in the case of the pull up bar). For now I am pretty happy using them on the aforementioned bi/tri isolation exercises. I'm no fitness expert, but I do have to say that after using fat gripz I don't feel like I need to do hammer curls because EVERY arm isolation exercises with fat gripz has the effect of a hammer curl! Finally, adding to the full five stars: These are solid, heavy, well made objects. You will be impressed by the quality.

Excellent quality and results
The Fat Gripz definitely activate my forearm muscles during a workout. This is actually a side benefit that I wasn't aware of until AFTER buying "cheapy" brand grips for $11 and then returning them. I purchased the original grips to alleviate a pain I was having in my left hand during dumbbell chest and shoulder press with >40lb weights. Even the lower-priced grips eased the pain, but did not fit the dumbbells at my gym and felt they might slip. I then found Fat Gripz and understood what they're actually designed for. I'm pleased to say I no longer have to do separate forearm exercises. By using them in various ways (ropes, cables, presses, curls, etc.), I get a great workout, and my grip is improving. Fat Gripz material and texture are far superior to the "cheapy" brands; I'm confident they'll hold up over time. As for the fit, they're still a little shy of perfect, and the inside diameter could be made 1/4" larger. Not bad for standard dumbbells, but my gym has high-end equipment with thick, chrome & countoured handles that are even larger for the over 30lbs. (see the pics). But, these don't feel like they will slip off. To sum up - get them, you will like your results.

Very effective and high quality
This has been the most engaged helpful seller I've ever dealt with on Amazon. Sending out helpful tips was very nice! As for the product, I've used it a few times now and you feel the difference in your workout. From activating different supporting muscles to adding a bit more bang for your buck on some simple exercises. I've used them on my standard straight bars, my dumbbells etc and they fit perfect and you don't feel any slippage or movement. It's like they're molded to what you put it on. High quality materials and no odor during or after workout and very good grip on your hand and the equipment. Highly recommend.

Buenisimas
