That’s the answer I can give you as maybe. The lifting arm needs to be far enough out to pull an engine out of a car. The crane itself is heavy duty enough. If you extend the crane out beyond the side of your vehicle left or right I would say yes. I hope that helps. I haven’t pulled an engine out of a car with it.

How long is the boom length

The boom's total length is 43 inches, from pivot point to 500 lb lift point is 40 inches, from the 750 lb lift point is 35 inches and 30 inches to the 1000 lb lift point. I have used it once to lift a Craftsman compressor (200 lbs, give or take) into my F150's bed, it worked just fine.

Will it work with cargo van ?

Yes I do believe it will. I mailed it on my pick up. It just depends on how high you have the lifting arm that swings. It might hit the top jam of your door frame. But you can adjust the crane to the left or right more. It also depends on how wide and tall the cargo is that you’re lifting into your vehicle.

What is the gear ratio?

There is no gear ratio. It’s hydraulic pump. It works great!
