Great Techniques

Spectacular! Quick, concise and seriously stout techniques that I could implement as soon as I read them. It's a great book to have on hand if you find a free minute or two.My only critique, the Kindle version seemed a bit "thrown together" at times. Grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, poor font color choices are my only complaints.I will be recommending this read to friends and colleagues.

Useful and interesting

Interesting collections of tips. I could apply some of them "of the shelf". Just don't try to use them all, and don't expect that they will do your work. You still need to work hard, but you definitely have a help in this book. Go back from time to time to it, see if you see it in a different light.

Good but not great

Sounds like this guy would be great to have as an encouraging friend. And a few of his tips or examples were really interesting and I intend to try them. A lot of the time, though, I felt like I usually do when I read books about productivity or overcoming disorganization and am like "really? You think after struggling for this for over 20 years I never thought of that?" Which can lead to a sense of fatalism. He seems like a very nice person though and I'm sure he will be very successful in life.

The Pomodora Effect !!!

The Pomodora Effect is a very effective technique to help put the squeeze on procrastination within an hour. The other techniques I found useful in sparking a start. Great read.

everyone should read this, because we all procrastinate!

I love the techniques used in this book to overcome procrastination, especially the 5 min technique. But more importantly by monitoring my inner dialogue as the author said I have noticed that i've been procrastinating much more than I thought. As soon as that happens I use the techniques that I have learnt.

An Excellent Tool for Daily Living!

Here's another excellent tool from Akash Karia!!From the simple steps of breaking large daunting tasks into smaller more manageable accomplishments to the tools of learning how to manage time, Akash has provided yet another way for us to 'save ourselves from ourselves' in our eternal fight with procrastination. For example, I love reading, but have attention span issues brought about by my medical condition. I also cannot exercise as much as I should for the same reason. After reading Akash's book and following his tools, I got myself to read one paragraph from a book I purchased two years ago, and then walked around for 5 minutes. Then, I read two paragraphs and walked for 7 minutes. Now, I read and walk for longer periods, not having to procrastinate either because of my self-imposed limitations.Thank you Akash for helping me to retrain myself and for 'saving me from myself'!

Get reading and get doing

This is my first book purchase from this author and he certainly produces value. I like the style of the way the book sets out the 23 steps. Yes , I acknowledge that the title is a bit gimmicky but I have no quarrel with this if the author delivers on his promises and I have to say that the book stays at a consistent high level and never seems forced or contrived. I would urge fellow procrastinators to read all 23 tools as it is not a demanding read, or a tedious read. The author writes clearly, openly and with authority as a “real world” person who doesn’t talk endlessly about delegating, as it is usually us that has to do the job and not some imaginary “rotten task fairy”. The author has a sizeable following, so you are invited to join and share unlike with some of the guru writers. The exercises are an integral part of the learning. Answer the questions he poses on every chapter. It is you they are intended for. The book isn’t a magic pill you swallow and get immediate benefits from. Just in case you weren’t paying attention, he sums it up in a nutshell for every chapter.I liked the solar flaring technique. It helps with starting a daunting task. Also, to avoid daunting tasks, I obliged myself to take advantage of the weather and mow the lawn tonight. After a little argument between my unwilling mind and body and my “to do list”, reinforced by a looming pre-commitment device, I got started. I also have a spare ½ hour tonight, so a little bit of Pomodoro technique will earn another tick. If I don’t my accountability partners will kick my Ass and I hate cruelty to animals. If you don’t mind I won’t explain the techniques, as it is unfair for me to precis the book in such a disjointed way. Suffice to say that it has refreshing and sound advice when your get up and go has got up and gone.Good luck. Procrastination is even more evil than “researchers”.PS You may have noticed a certain Mr S J Scott also has 23 observations on the subject of procrastination. No reason why you shouldn't find both books useful
