Latex Scary Octopus Full Head Mask Costume for Halloween Masquerade Party Props

Great look for my Doctor Who cosplay. The fit is a little tight, and if definitely has a distinctive latex smell and feel (highly recommend a layer of vaseline and a balaclava underneath for long periods of wear), but it's light and tough enough to last full days on the convention floor.

Ok... it's less than a week before comic con.... Dr. Who is going to be a big theme at the event. What can I go as? How about an Ood! I was amazed at how detailed this mask was (yes, up close it's just a latex mask with holes cut out for you to breathe and see through). At a distance, it's just killer. I wore an outfit to match, and carried around a white styrofoam ball (do your Dr. Who research for why) all day. I had people left and right stopping me, wanting a picture with the Ood! The best part... you get to be a rock star, so to speak, and yet no one knows the true nerd inside! The only downside, was that it is very hot to wear, and a little smelly. I could only go for an hour or so at a time before I had to duck into a bathroom and take it off for a bit to cool down. I couldn't let anyone know who the Ood really was!

Not great but checks out for it's price. Too hot to actually wear, and you can't see like at all. Good for a picture but trick or treating was impossible

It’s a really cheap mask that looks nothing like the picture. Total waste of money. Don’t recommend.

I will post pictures of my modified mask later when it is finished. I am using this to make a costume of an Ood from Doctor Who. I added red LED lights under the eyes and extra tentacles to the mouth area. I still have to paint it. The biggest problems with this mask are #1.) it is very hard to see out of. You will be looking out of the mouth or nostril holes, which are not very large and will have to be enlarged or enhanced somehow #2) It is extremely hot. I expected this and had planned for a fan to blow air into the mask but the fan has to be small and located under the neck are of clothing. This means that whatever clothing you tuck the latex mask into, must have a wide enough neck to secure the fan in the right place and an accommodating pouch for the battery supply. I have not found proper fans yet. I already have the pouch in the costume set up for the lights for the eyes. Those seem to be working well. I will post pictures and updates when it is finished. Right now it looks "okay." I posted pictures of my modified mask above. The mask is already posted from other reviewers as it comes from Amazon. I added a few more tentacles using fishing line, caulking, glue and paint. You don't have to add tentacles. It is kind of a pain, but a little paint makes the features stand out better and adding red glowing eyes is a bonus. I have to paint the inside with a little extra latex or glue before enlarging the eye holes to be able to see out of it ant better.

Well made and very detailed. It smelled strongly when I first got it but after a wash of baking soda paste inside the smell went away. Hard to see through the supplied eye slots so I widened the slots. The addition of lighted eyes was easy and worked very well. See the pic.

It looks great! It is impossible to eat or drink in the mask and very difficult to see out of.

Its fun and cool. Good quality it seems. The only issue I have is it's a bit tight and hard to breathe through. I'm a pretty standard type guy and it's tight on my head.

It's a basic latex mask at a fair price. Nothing fancy.
