If your wife likes it, great! There's more than one way to use a tool. A butter knife is also a screwdriver. The answers I see coming from women is "You're a guy, so FO, we have no respect for you." I say, buy the thing. If your wife doesn't need it, re-gift it to a thrift shop. Someone will buy it to use for fishing. It looks like it could land a large Pike or a Bass.
