I don't normally write reviews but I felt in this case its warranted. Some of the reviews I read here before I bought it were, well, less than enthusiastic so I was a little apprehensive about buying it. I'm glad I did. We have around one and a half acres of paddock, well overgrown with nettles, thistles docks, buttercups and brambles around six foot tall in places. The main area in the centre was cut using a tractor, but this left a six margin around the edges and the corners. Step in with this machine. Cuts everything without hesitation, it was raining the night before, didn't affect it. Starts first time every time, long reach goes under trees and under bottom rail of a four bar fence. Its quite big and heavy, well made but incredibly manoeuvrable, I'm 68 and superbly balanced, very easy to use. Five stars and 11/10. Love it!

Didn’t get off to a good start as the bottom of the box had let go and had to be turned up-side-down to be able to carry it into my house. Assembly was relatively easy and didn’t take much time. Prior to purchasing the machine I had asked about replacement cords and was shocked to find that they were £1.80 per two foot length plus vat and excessive posting charges of £5.00 plus VAT. I decided instead to buy a roll of 3.9mm Vortex line for a fraction of the price of the OEM stuff. The machine isn’t as easy to push as I would have expected, so I replaced the cord with some 2.4 mm strimmer cord and this worked very well on the grass in front of my house and made the machine much easier to push. The machine starts well after a quick couple of pushes on the primer button. It runs well and the engine control and the strimmer engagement lever all work well. You are not able to use the online warranty form to register this machine as the website doesn’t list this machine on the dropdown lists. I sent a copy of my registration document to the email address supplied with a request for acknowledgement but didn’t get any back. This was disappointing and I hope it isn’t indicative of they way any warranty claims will be dealt with. The bad packaging and poor customer warranty service led to my overall rating for what appears to be a good piece of equipment. I have had this strimmer for a few years now and have just revised my rating as I had cause to contact customer support regarding the strimmer running irratically. Customer support was very helpful and we managed to resolve the problem so I am now back making full use of my strimmer. Just wish they would make a powered strimmer as I am getting a bit long in the tooth for pushing this one around.

Unable to complete this review due to the machine arriving with a missing bolt for the handle. After nine days Hyundai can give us no date when they can give us a replacement. Wehadbeen loking forward to using the strimmer. We then decided to go to our local tool shop and purchased a bolt to replace the missing one. Success and the machine is brilliant and copes with overgrown grass and meadows and so much easier and quicker than a strimmer. Very easy to use so we are Very pleased with our purchase date when they can give us a replacement. We had been looking forward to using the strimmer.

Used once and initially very pleased. Second time the throttle mechanism failed only operating on Full power ( so over-reving) or Off. Called customer services and said I was happy to fix my end .. 5 mails later in and 3 weeks not solution I'm now in email 7.. Finally worked out how to use it by attaching a rubber band. (not supplied with machine) IN the absence of a response from Glenpower I thought I'd use it ( now possible with Rubber band) as areas previously cut are now overgrown again ... When truing to start with the pull start something went ping and now the pull start don't work . Having now got through they suggest that cannot replace the machine .. I need to return and they will fix it. As purchased through Amazon Glenpower state that they are not obliged to replace it. I suspect that as these goods are clearly not of merchantable quality or fit for purpose I believe I am entitle for a replacement. This entire process has now taken nearly one month and whilst I was happy to assist in the repair I do not see why I should. Do I assume that by buying through Amazon the Glenpower forgo all their consumer obligation under the consumer trading act. Anyone out there thinking or getting one - think again.

I have been unable to sourse replacement cutting line for this item. So I have not used it as much as I wanted to. When I have used it it has performed well and up to expectation.

Great machine which chomps up brambles in quick time but goes through trimmer line almost as quick. I bought Oregon Flexiblade Serrated Heavy Duty line which lasts a bit longer but I guess the brambles are just bit too tough!

Well made more powerful than hand held strimmer 4mm nylon line ok. But does break with thick brambles will try a thicker line

If you are worried about your back with the weight of a hand strimmer then this is an excellent option. It certainly does the job. However, Changing the height of the strimmer is fiddly Inserting the strimming rope is fiddly as 4mm rope is quite tough and inflexible but better if you preheat it on the Aga warm plate to make it more flexible. But as a strimming virgin, I have to say that strimming rope is useless and breaks far to easily. Its fine for grass but cant cope with brush. I get a maximum 15minutes use before having to replace it - and I dont have an Aga in the garden. There is no earthly reason it couldn't come with a tristar blade instead or as well - that would actually do the job in brush. But it doesn't. Wakey, wakey. And I think £500 for something I push is not great VFM
