After a week laid up, I went to start up the car and the battery was completely flat. We tend to forget that today's cars are far more draining on batteries and leaving them parked with the alarm on for days can often result in a flat battery. What to do? I quick scan of Amazon led to the Buddygo charger on special offer for under £18, delivered next day for free on Prime.Upon receipt, I promptly connected the charger to my car battery and left it to charge. It worked no problem and I was able to start up after leaving battery on charge for 5 hours. I have now fully charged the battery, without needing to use the pulse repair setting (which can take up to a day).This charger is great value for money and does what it says it will do - charge your battery. No need to spend loads more on other far more expensive units to do the same job. My car is an E90 3 series BMW, so the Buddygo works on this no problem. Like many more recent cars, mine has two dedicated connectors to attach the positive and negative charger clips, although you can if needs be attach them directly to the battery depending on requirements. The unit is light, small and portable, so it can fit neatly into your boot or even the glove compartment on many cars, although the power lead is quite short and you will need an extension socket unless your garage sockets are very close to your car battery.I highly recommend the Buddygo, as flat batteries are likely to become a more common problem, especially in winter and with more people working flexibly. The problem can be avoided by charging up whenever you leave your car parked up for any significant length of time.

Excellent bit of kit! Bought because our battery has been going flat due to the car sitting on the drive during lockdown. After a Greenflag call out and test at Halfords the verdict was the battery is fine but lack of use was the problem. We had kick starts twice from our kind neighbour then I researched battery chargers. This kit is simple to use, battery can be left in situ if you have a long enough extension lead. Plug in, connect up and leave for a couple of hours. Digital readout tell you all you need to know with the added bonus of a read out of % charge as you go along. Reasonable price and arrived within 24 hours too! Perfect.

I’ve had my old charger for 35 years and decided it was time to change. I didn’t exactly splash out; this was one of the cheapest chargers available. I have to say it’s does the job very well. I got a charge rate of nearly 6 Amps on my battery and it soon topped it up. It tells you the state of charge and charge rate, both very useful. It also tells you the outside temperature but you can figure that out for yourself if you have to wear a coat. The instructions are ok, not the Queens English but good enough. It’s reasonably well made although the leads are relatively short. I doubt it will last another 35 years but neither will I!

Compared to massive, heavy, battery chargers of old, this little unit is a diamond. Compact and lightweight. It offers more than older chargers in that it has digital analytical functions, as well as 'repair battery' mode... The beauty of these functions is you will know if your battery is shot or not. I havent used the repair function yet, but if it works, and I have no reason to suspect that it wont, then it could potentially save you the cost of an early trip to Halfords to buy a new battery... Charging from dead, to fully charged, takes several hours, but Ive always charged batteries overnight, so thats not an issue for me... Highly recommended... Very good value and functional...

I have to say I was sceptical at how good for the price but purchased this to try and rekindle life in a flat battery which I had tried with CX5 chargers already.The battery would not even bring on a lamp dimly on the motorbike it was on. That’s how dead it was. My initial attempts with this charger did not prove fruitful either and the device would say the battery was full or error out after a while. I tried this many times but to no avail. Eventually I just left the charger on one day and came back to it a week later - and the bike turned over! I then reset the device and it performed what it’s normal repair mode would be and now the battery is working like it was new. I’ve just put it on another battery to see it I can get that to come back too. I’ve actually bought 2 more of the same brand now in addition to this one, one of these and the 12/24 version. I got this when my car battery kept going flat, and it's been a real help. Setting it up was straightforward, just connect the clips and plug it in, and it shows clearly when it's charging. It works quickly and I noticed the battery held its charge much better afterwards. The casing feels sturdy and the cables are a decent length, so it's easy to use in the driveway without stretching things around. My boyfriend left the hazard lights on overnight and my car battery went completely flat. No power at all.This is my first car and I’ve never ever had a battery problem and was told by a friend that when the battery dies completely you’ll never get it back to how it was. I very nearly purchased a new battery but thought I’d look to see if Amazon sold jump leads.Thank GOODNESS I saw this product. I was so skeptical because when it arrived it was so lightweight - I thought it had to be some kind of scam. We had to borrow an extension cable from the neighbours as the device has a very short plug wire, which is the only downfall of the product.The device recommended 16 hours charging for my type of battery but after 4 hours the lights came back on and I took my chances. It’s been 2 weeks and I haven’t had a single fault with my car (my car is not new either). I am shocked at how well this tiny device worked and I’m so happy with the result. I can’t recommend it enough and hope this helps someone in the same position as me!

Lockdown 3 combined with the cold weather meant that my 3 year old mini didn’t start after about 10 days of being on the drive. We got the car started with jump leads but found that we weren’t able to drive it enough in daylight to charge the battery and the warning messages on the car suggested using a battery charger.I ordered this after reading the great reviews on Amazon and it arrived the next day. I also brought a 10m extension lead to plug it in from my hallway and through the letterbox to the drive.In total it took around 3 days and nights to fully charge the car. I used the trickle charge/repair setting which is better for the battery than the quicker normal charge. The voltage on the battery was 9v when I started to charge it so it was pretty dead. It was back up to 14v when fully charged.This is small and compact and really easy to use although I did look on YouTube for videos first.Totally recommend this along with a decent length extension lead as the cable to the plug is less than a metre.
