Good product - no phone needed
My alarm clock of 30 years recently broke. I decided to replace it with a modern take on an alarm clock. I think many of us can identify with the following - we both love and hate our alarm clocks. To me, this means that this sort of product is personal. I am very happy with the Dawn. Here are my pros and deltas. Pros - No phone needed. I purchased a few other products but returned them when I discovered that I couldn't perform all functions without my phone. The Dawn fully works without a phone. I love this. While like many folks I like connected devices and technology, when I go to bed I don't want to be required to use my phone to control my alarm clock. Sometimes I take my phone with me to bed to read but sometimes I don't. When I don't, I don't want to have to get out of bed to go get it in order to do something to the product. For example, to enable an alarm, other products required me to use a phone. This was a non-starter for me. - Bluetooth. I love being able to stream BT from my phone in my bedroom. - Easy to use. - Dimmable display. - Nice look, nice weight. - USB charging port. - Alarm has a crescendo which was a nice touch. It is quiet at first then gets louder. My partner and I like this. My old alarm clock was like a gong - super loud at first which always jolted me. - Finally, a big snooze button right on top so you can whack it. Well done. Some old habits don't go away. - Has battery backup. Deltas - Sound is terrible. Very mid-range with no treble and no bass. However, I didn't buy this for the sound so this didn't bother me. I do like streaming BT from my phone but when I want good sound, I go elsewhere in my house to listen to what I want to. - FM radio reception is terrible. This bothered me a little bit. I like to turn on the radio sometimes when in my bedroom. Even with the included antennae fully extended, the reception is bad. Other products I tested had much better reception. - Colon in clock flashes. Other products do this but my old alarm clock didn't. I'm very light sensitive so this concerned me. However, I discovered that the flashing colon is subtle unlike other products. With the dimmer on its lowest setting (display still on), I don't have a flashing disco globe party in my bedroom at night while trying to sleep and I can still look at the time in the night. Wishes - Wish I could get a white one...went with gray. - Wish I could change the color of the display. - Wish I didn't have to put batteries into it for the backup. My old one took a 9V. But it always annoyed me when the 9V ran out of power because I would never find out until power would go out and I would wake up late for work. This day and age, why not build a small lithium ion battery into the unit and let the wall outlet keep it charged. Overall, great little product. Thanks, team.

Compact, great sound, many functions, everything works, but tiny buttons.
This is an update after 9 mos of use. My first one was defective, the wireless charger didn't work and the radio cut in and out. I replaced it quickly and easily at Amazon with a new one. The new one has worked perfectly since then. The unit is compact (too much so for me, see below) and sturdy. The sound is excellent for such a small device. It has more functions than I need. I really only needed three things: 1) wake up to my local classical music radio station, 2) since the unit is on my bed stand right next to my head, I wanted a very dim light (surprising how bright most clock radios are, even on the dimmest setting), wifi charging. This one fits the bill, with great sound to boot. The extra USB charger is useful too. I tested the blue tooth feature and it works, but I don't use it so can't say much else about it. The wifi charger is a little picky about getting the phone in the correct spot, but that seems to be the same with all of them and after a few times you can find the right spot quickly. The only problem with being so compact is that the buttons are small, close together, serve multi-functions, and almost flush to the surface. This makes it difficult to remember which button does what or to find the one you need by touch in the dark. But these are only minor idiosyncratic complaints, and once I got used to it I found that I can generally find the most-used buttons (i.e. setting the alarm and turning it on) in the dark without much problem. The most important button, the snooze button, is large and centered, easy to find and distinguish from the others. There's always a trade off between compact size, multi-functionality, and ease of use, and this unit finds a nice middle ground with excellent quality and excellent sound. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this one, although I would prefer something sightly larger and slightly easier to use.

Pretty good for the price
Display is a little too dim for daytime viewing and sound is a little muffled (no highs). The wireless charger and Bluetooth work reliably and the case feels pretty solid compared to another known brand. As I hate reading instructions, I found it a little hard to program the radio stations but was able to figure it out. I really needed a clock radio which had wireless charging and see the time when I wake up in the night. It would have been nice if it had auto time set, but, heck, for the price, I’m pretty happy.

Do Not Buy! Please read this!!! ***Updated...!!!!
First, I was still using an old CD/clock radio from the 80s. But I wanted something with bluetooth and digital tuning. Dual alarms is a plus. This radio also has a USB port for a phone charger and wireless charging for newer phones. It is easy to setup and use. I love the dimmable display, 4 levels plus OFF. The bluetooth works well and the tuner is easy to use and program. I'm happy with the wireless charging, but the phone has to be almost perfect or it will not charge. Sometimes the cats bump it in the night. What I don't like is the alarm. It starts off quiet and gradually get obnoxiously loud in 10 seconds. Plus the volume control is digital and, for me is too loud on the lowest setting. I wish it was a bit quieter and the alarm volume was steady, not ascending. Maybe have a setting for that. I'm not going to down grade it cause these are truly personal preferences and not major flaws. Edit: After using this clock radio for several months I have grown to absolutely HATE it!!! Everything above I have said is correct. that will not change. But please before buying read all of this. First - The alarm volume is OBNIXIOUS! it starts softly and gradually increases to maximum volume. The sound quality is good, the volume is deafening. There should be an option to have it at a fixed volume and not be progressive. Second - The lowest volume level is still too high to fall asleep to. It would be nice to cut that in half. Third - The buttons to turn the alarm on and off are too easy to accidentally hit, thus turning the alarm off only to find out when you wake an hour late. Fourth - The FM tuning is scratchy. I live 20 miles from Chicago. This should have a crystal clear tuning. very disappointing for me. Fifth - On several occasions when charging my phone overnight, both wirelessly and with a USB cord, the radio "locks up". That's right. It's a computer inside and it crashes like any other. Oh...don't expect the alarm to work during this time. Unplug and plug it back in to reset. Sixth - There is no wake to Bluetooth. Sucks. Seventh - The return policy is only 1 MONTH. Learn to like it fast or send it back before its too late. Eighth - How do you contact the company? I could not find any company info and am disappointed that I can not air my frustration directly with them, directly. Ninth - If you use a magnetic vent phone mount for your car and have the metal "plate" on your phone, you cannot charge this wirelessly. Tenth - This is actually a bonus....this has become the most stylish and expensive paperweight I own. I thought about having it in the kitchen or office just as a radio, but the Google Home devices work for that.

Keep your instruction sheet close.
I bought this to have a radio-alarm clock on my nightstand of our newly furnished bedroom. While I like the look it has to few buttons to control its multiple functions. Very hard and confusing to use so I would not recommend it. My wife saw the fast charger on top and the usb port on the rear and took it for her side of the bed. It works well for her iPhone and nook charging needs. The diming time display is a great feature.

Great Value & Features
It’s very aesthetic & modern looking. Setting the time, alarm, & radio stations was fairly easy following the enclosed instructions but if anyone needs a more visual step by step tutorial then their official Youtube channel is very helpful. I also read some complaints about the radio reception & what i found worked was to make sure the antennae is completely stretched out & I would have to move it around to get better reception for some stations. Also pointing it towards my window helped with some stations to be a bit clearer. I also tried the wireless charging & although it’s not as fast as charging my iPhone directly from the outlet, it was still adequate. For one hour of wireless charging, my battery increased from 80% to 95%. I could connect my phone to the Dawn’s bluetooth without problems but just remember to increase the volume of your phone so you can hear sound from the speaker because I initially forgot to do that & mistakenly thought the speaker was broken. The speaker itself is adequate & the volume can fill my bedroom but because this is under a $100, the sound quality will not be comparable to premium speakers. But knowing that I was satisfied with the sound & volume. Another thing to note, although there are 5 levels of brightness, the second to the last setting is still a bit bright in the dark. Fortunately the clock is out of my line of sight so that isn’t an issue for me. A few functions I wish the Dawn had is the ability to automatically set my alarm for weekdays so I wouldn’t have to turn it off manually on the weekends, automatic dimming of the clock display when the lights are off, & the clock being able to set up the correct time on its own. But overall the Dawn had all the features I’ve been looking for in an alarm clock, especially the ability to wake up to my fave radio station.

Excellent Buy!
Love this little device. Small enough not to take up much room on the nightstand, but large enough top surface to accommodate even the largest mobile phone for charging. I like the rounded edges and the quiet calm grey and white color scheme that doesn't take attention away from the furnishings. It's a clock, an alarm, a radio, a bluetooth speaker and a recharging device all in one small sleek unit. And I really really appreciate that the background of the clock face is grey not black and the numbers are a soft white - not that glaring yellow or green color that most have. All for less than $20. Highly recommended.

Nice features, terrible alarm clock
Wireless iPhone charging? Check. Speaking pairing with iPhone? Also check. Alarm clock? Not so check. I wanted to like this clock. I really did. It does so many nice things. But first and foremost, I need it to wake me up in the morning. After the first few times the clock reset on me, I tightened the connections, which I found were looser than they should be. My fault. But last night I woke up to find that the clock had lost about 3 hours. Now, none of my other clocks did. It probably reset at 3AM. Thankfully, today is Saturday, so no need to get up. That aside, I've never had such a hard time finding the snooze button. I think I messed it up once or twice because I hit something OTHER than the snooze button to stop it beeping in the morning. Why not just turn the alarm off altogether? I would have, but THAT button is even harder to find in the dark. And if you press that one twice, you switch it to the second alarm--I got woken up at midnight twice before I figured out what was going on. If you don't need a clock, it's a nice charger/speaker. If you do...keep looking. Looks like I'll have to, too.

American Plug
This is a great product. However, my satisfaction was ruined by the fact that it was fitted with an American power plug. If US companies want to sell products outside the USA they should at least realize that the rest of the world are different. This applies to Amazon as well, they should not sell products on the AU site that aren’t AU compliant. Fortunately I had an Adapter.

Works great, saves plug-ins
I used to have to plug in a dedicated alarm clock, wireless QI charger, and lamp next to my bed. Since this serves to purposes, I only need to use 2 plugs now. It charges my Samsung phone pretty quickly, I'd guess it charges at about 10 watts. No issue with brightness, radio works great, haven't tried the alarm yet.
