Heil SoundWSPR40 Large Windscreen for PR40, PR30, PR780, and PR 781

I ordered this windscreen for my Heil PR40, and can say that while expensive, it's an excellent, high quality windscreen. There is one thing to be aware of, however, as I discovered. If you want to use the PR40 with a shock mount, this windscreen is almost too big/long to work with the kind of mount I have. In other words, it won't go all the way on the mic, because there isn't room when the mic is fitted into the shock mount. However, I found an easy solution. I had another good windscreen on my EV RE320, which is actually shorter than the Heil screen. So I just plopped the Heil screen onto the RE320 and used the other screen on the PR40, and they both worked like a dream. Since the 320 is much longer than the PR40, the shorter screen was ideal for use with the shockmount. So I'm happy and glad to give this product 5 stars.

You know the dumb overpriced metal pop filter that I'm talking about. It's the one you see everyone on the internet who owns a Heil PR40 using. Don't buy that. This gets rid of pops WAY better than that does. Even if I try my hardest, I can't pop my P's using this thing. And, this looks way sleeker and more radio. I love it. I wish I had bought these the day I started using a PR40.

Fits perfectly on my Heil PR-40 Microphone. Just wish these darn things were less expensive, but it probably saves your microphone in the long run from dust/dirt, etc., plus the added noise/voice pop reduction.

This filter fit like a glove and will certainly keep the microphone plosives at bay.

I use this on my Heil PR-40 Dynamic Studio Recording Microphone because I hate having a big pop filter in front of me when doing podcasts. This windscreen gives the microphone a much more "broadcast radio" look and does a nice job keeping the pops at bay. It seems as well made as any foam can be. The price is evidence that nobody else is really making these, but it's worth it if you have a Heil mic. If it would cost half the price I'd say it was a 5 star item but the value hit brings the score down.
