The best portable shelter known to man!
We needed a shelter because we were going camping for Thanksgiving and needed a place to serve the food since we were feeding about 14 (yes, we're crazy people. Lol) and the RV is too cramped to line that many up in there. We almost bought a different one, but I found this after my husband had gone to bed, so I made the decision without him. All I told him was, "I know it cost more, but you will thank me when you put it up the first time." So the day finally came and he went out to put it up. Just a couple minutes later he came back in and exclaimed, "Omg, that thing is awesome!!!" And over the next few days I listened to him tell everyone how easy it was to put it up. Even the other campers who came by to ask us about it. And yes, I took ALL the credit. Lol What we liked: The first time he put it up it took about 60 seconds. It is SO easy I don't think he looked at the instructions once. And taking it down is even easier, if that's possible. It's VERY tall. My son in law is about 6'4 and even he had plenty of clearance above his head. It's very sturdy. We were right on a lake where it gets very windy (that was the main reason we needed it) and we left it up for about 4 nights without any concern about it getting damaged or it getting blown around at all. Even on the warmer days when we had the windows and door open. It might be different if we were just using the screens, but it ties down really well and I think it would take a lot for that to happen. The wind walls are attached, so you always have them with you. Just unroll them from the top and zip them into place. Plus there are windows on them that you can open if you're still in need of some fresh air. There is a ton of space inside. We put up 2 tables about 6' long on either side to put the food on. If it had been colder or too windy we could have easily fit chairs on either side of both tables to eat at and I don't think it would've felt crowded. Even though it's a dark brown color, the light colored roof allowed plenty of light in so we didn't need a light source until after the sun went down. A day prior when temps were in the high 40s, we tried using one of those small radiator type heaters (the cheap $50 ones from Walmart) to warm it up just in case it got cold enough that we'd have to eat inside. Didn't end up needing to, but with that tiny heater it got warm enough to be comfortable. We liked the apron along the bottom that should keep most bugs out. Some reviews complained about getting it back in the storage bag after use. This wasn't a problem for us. It went right back in without any hassle at all. Maybe the bag is bigger now? It didn't really rain that week so we can't speak to how dry it stays or if it gets too hot in warmer weather. Then again, we live in the south. No matter where you are, in the shade or not, it is ALWAYS too hot outside. I don't see it being any worse in any screen room you could buy. Lol

Great tent and water resistant - And stood up to many hurricanes in Florida
Update October 2024: As you can see from below, we have had this tent up CONSTANTLY for 2 1/2 years here in Florida. We stay in it 1-8 days at a time in the forest. It has amazingly withstood all that Florida summers have had to offer in that time, including Hurricane Helene. It finally succumbed to Hurricane MIlton a couple of weeks ago when one side caved in due to a limb falling on it and causing the roof to collect water. Couple of the support poles were broken, but Viola', tent was resurrected and cleaned out, and we will be replacing the poles and still having our home away from home. Inflatable mattress and all was still in good shape. Can't say enough about this AMAZING tent. Initial post: We are using this tent in the woods in an off grid area in Florida. We set this tent up the first week in May 2022 and have not taken it down. As you can see from the pics we have a queen size inflatable bed, 2 chairs and a table in it, and still plenty of room. We also have plastic lidded bins that we use for clothes, plus they double as night tables. When we first purchased this we had just the 12.5 X 12.5 ft Pavilion Gazebo tent with the built in side flaps. There was a small bit of leaking at the seams, so we sealed it with Tent Seam sealer - quick and easy - and purchased the tent Fly. This covered the seams at the top and took care of the leaking. We Then purchased (mostly with points from Amazon) a tent basin bottom made for this tent - we had not been aware this was available until we saw a picture of it on the tent box. We felt this was a great addition as being in the woods in Florida, having your bed directly on the ground is not a great idea. Now to PERFORMANCE - This Gazebo tent is AWESOME. We have been living in this tent now 1 to 5 days a week for almost 6 months and no problems, even with this being a very rainy summer for Florida. Even with hurricane Ian that just passed through Florida - although it came ashore about 150 miles south of where our tent is, there was still plenty of wind and rain - we had no problems. I could not believe it, no leaking and the tent withstood the winds. We had initially planned this for short term use and to replace it with a cabin, but now our cabin plans are on hold as the tent is serving us just fine. Oh, and did I mention it was very easy to set up. My favorite part about this tent, when the weather is nice - which it has been most of the time we have had this tent up, we keep all the wall flaps open at night, a beautiful breeze, can see the moon, and wake up in the mornings to see the trees all around us.

Easy to set up, very roomy
Got the 12.5 x 12.5 size because we like a lot of room when we camp. The camp ground we go to usually has 8 foot tables so there is plenty of room in here for that and our Cabela camp kitchen along with a large crate, rocking chair, a spare table for the grill/griddle/camp stove. So easy to set up, one person can do it. We use to use a large canopy with heavy poles that we had to drag with us. Needed at least 3 people to set that monster up not to mention how high it was which was a nightmare if it was windy out. We got the one with attached wind panels with built in windows which is so convenient. It was a bit of a pain when setting up because the panels were zipped up and we had to fit our hand through the hole of the panel to pull the walls out. I think next time when we put it away we will leave the panels rolled up. The zippers are very easy to zip and large compared to others. I think they will last a long time. The tent itself seemed to have good stitching. I do caution when opening up the windows on the wind panels. They have a Velcro strip holding them closed and I feel if you just rip open the window panel without holding the little piece of Velcro strip you will rip it off the tent and then it will leak, so go slow. Putting it back in the bag that it came with was very easy. The bag, unlike most bags, was large enough that there was no struggle. It is a bit heavy to carry, about 40lbs, but the bag is well made. We would highly recommend this tent.

Pavilion XL 12.5x12.5 squeezes into truck bed
This is an early review after I set it up and took it down, but havenโt camped with it yet. So far I really love it. I only wish it was 1โ shorter so it would fit nicely in the back of my truck that has the 6 1/2โ bed. As you can see from the photo I will have to angle it to the side in order to close the tailgate. That screws up my modular packing, but Iโll pack it last on top of all of my other gear and set it at an angle. As far as set up- it was very easy. Iโm female and about 5โ4โ. I couldnโt get the roof up or down if the walls were out, but I used a pole with a brush on it to pop it up, and a step stool to bring it down, very easily. Not including staking, it took me about a minute the first time. I had previously watched a video so knew what to do. The construction, sturdiness, grommets and zippers all look good. I canโt wait to use it! The main door flaps roll up, or you can tie them to the side. They are two pieces; one for each door side. I do wish there was some rain fly/awning that I could pull out to use with tent poles to shelter me as I walked in & out the door in heavy rain. After looking for two years, Iโm glad I finally purchased it! Hopefully it will hold up well in rain and light wind.

Durable! Did I mention that itโs durable?
This is one one the nicest pieces of camping gear Iโve ever bought. We got the one with the side curtains built in. My only complaint about the curtains is that they canโt completely detach. Kinda wish they could. But I like that all the curtains can drop down and give you a very private space. And if you get the one with the built-in floor, you could absolutely use this as your primary sleeping tent. In fact, it would be ideal for that. It keeps rain out very well when the curtains are down. My only complaint is that it can be miserable to repack into the carry bag. Itโs definitely a 2 person job, even just to get the zipper closed. But thatโs mostly due to the complexity of what makes this a really good product once itโs set up. Can it be set up alone? Absolutely one person setup. Not sure itโs as fast as they claim, maybe if you practice and also if youโre not including the time it takes to secure it down with stakes and guy-lines and all. But none-the-less, itโs pretty easy to set up and can absolutely be done alone.

After years of seeing 'The Clam' gazebos in my neighboring campsites I finally splurged and got one!
I'm going to start off by saying this gazebo is not cheap! It's several times more expensive than my 9 person tent! However, with the tent only being where my family sleeps and changes, I figured the investment would be worth the dollars. Set-up: As simple as could be! When first removing it from the 'over-sized' bag the inherent orientation is actually upside down, so pay attention. With that known however, setup does literally take less than 3 minutes if you are by yourself (not including tying it down and staking). I will say that the 'over-sized' this product advertises is a bit misleading... The bag is not necessarily over-sized, it simply doesn't use it's volume efficiently. When fully torn-down, the tent's mass is almost all on one side, which fits tightly in the bag, while the other side is mostly empty. The bag itself is huge, at nearly 7' long, and it can't break down any further than that so don't expect it to fit in your car's trunk. Space: The inside of this gazebo is so roomy it surprised me how much space I had. We used a picnic table inside and had space to walk around it entirely even with kitchen totes along the perimeter of the footprint. With the picnic table oriented perpendicularly to one of the six wall panels I could place my heels near the pavilion with the table directly in front of me and my head was not in contact with the mesh (a problem I've had with gazebos in the past). Utility: The wall panel covers were simple enough to operate and kept out the wind and the rain (though I haven't yet tested it in much rain), we mostly have used them for privacy. There are soft covers on the inside for all of the 'locking hubs' on each wall panel and ceiling. The ceiling soft cover needed to be removed to hang a light, which was simple enough. I couldn't ask for a more usable space for cooking, eating or playing board games and I am super pleased! Durability: The gazebo feels more durable than I expected it to be (with the quick set-up mechanisms). I have not yet had high winds or severe weather, but I expect it will stand up pretty well. I purchased my own stakes to use, as I am often disappointed with the stakes that come with tents, though the stakes that came with The Clam were much nicer than I expected! I will come back and edit this review if I have any concerns over The Clam's durability after the next few camping trips... Happy Camping! edit: It's been several years of using the Clam and I am still a 100% satisfied customer!

Awesome All-Weather Winner
Late-summer lake camping in a year with wonky wet weather, and this roomy gazebo proved the perfect solution. The four of us were cozy, comfy, and dry during a full-day of downpour. There was no water incursion around the perimeter, and no leaks anywhere save for a few slow drips running down the screens from the seams at the top. (See photo.) Seam-sealer all around the upper seam is recommended before use. A big plus is the light-colored canopy. Even on a dark, overcast day, the interior was bright. Setup is straightforward, but the full-size (12.5 x 12.5) model is big, heavy, and awkward to handle. Despite the slick YouTube videos, it's hard to erect without two people. And getting it stuffed back into the "carry" bag is an exercise. There are some minor design flaws. (1) Rolling the side weather panels up or down requires removing the tie-down guys from their stakes and threading-unthreading them through the holes in the panels. And note: guying out the hubs is essential for stability in weather. RECOMMENDATION: Don't tie the guy lines to the hub eyebolts; use carabiners to make it easy to attach-detach them. (2) The side panels and doors are tied up or back with simple tie strips, which are a nuisance to do and undo. They should have been fitted with toggle and loop stays. (I plan to attempt the upgrade myself.) UPDATE: 2nd photo shows Sprookber carabiners installed; 3rd photo shows toggle and loop mod, which took about a half hour to complete. It took forever to track down the right toggles, which are: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07KTPMYFN/ All in all, this is a GREAT product, a bit pricey but worth it. Highly recommended, and the two mods make it even better!

Not happy with it at all
I looked forward to using this after seeing the videos and reading review. Have now used it a few times the last few months and I don't like it at all. First it does come looking like it is inside out. That's normal, watch the video and do it as shown and you will not have problems. One time I did not pay close enough attention and tried to put it up upside down. Big mistake. What they don't tell you if you do screw it up you might as well forget it. Could not use on that camping trip after about an hour of shear frustration trying to untangle it. Getting it home and finally found a mention on the internet about how to fix it. Go inside of it, near impossible since its all tangled at this point, and start to disassemble it one hub at a time and work your way out. Took about 2 hours and I know if it happens again its going in the trash. Can't stress enough to put up correctly. Now using it, the screens are so fine that no bug can get in, that's good. But also no air can get through the screen either. This thing is hot. Also on my former pop up canopy I used the top was coated with a silver layer inside to darken the top and keep the heat out. Nothing on this, its thin and will magnify the suns heats. Can't hardly stand it on a nice day with sun. Now also no moisture can get out, so breathing, using it on a damp day or just having it up over night will cause a lot of condensation to form on the inside roof. Any slight wind will then cause it to rain inside. Ruined a few paper products we left on the table over night. The entire surface of the table with wet with the condensation on an otherwise dry night. So it must be good for rain and cool days? Maybe if no wind at all. If any wind it will pop in a side or worse the top. Any rain at all with just a small breeze will pop the top down and all the rain that has pooled will come with it. I'm going to experiment with a center pole to try and prop it up next trip. Now another thing this is very heavy and hard to transport. It will only fit in my 6'6" truck bed at a diagonal. The bag it fits in is just barely big enough to stuff it in to, a pet peeve of mine as a few extra inches of material and it would fit just fine. I know a busted zipper on the storage bag is in my future. So would I recommend it? Nope. Would I but it again? Nope. Do I just plain hate it? Yep. A giant waste of money and more work and less usefulness than what it replaced. A simple pop up canopy with screen sides is what I will go back too when I finally have had enough of this thing and throw it out.

Love, Love, Love!
This tent is awesome! Our very first time using it we experienced heavy rain with high gusts of wind for an extended period of time. The tent did not collapse in the rain or the wind. Very little rain came in and only because we had left some window shades open to allow wind to blow through. We love the zip up panels. One thing to note is that when you โtie downโ via the side hooks, you may need to remove the tie down to lower or raise the panel which is no biggy, but something to remember if you need the panels down to put them down before tieing off, or vice versa. We do need a stool to bring the roof down as we arenโt the tallest folks around. A pull cord would be perfect and we will find something to attach for ease of take down. We do plan on buying the rain canopy for the roof as I know we will be sleeping in there when we attend festivals, etc. A high five to Clam for making this so easy to set up. I sure hope this tent lasts us for many, many years!

Best camping investment ever!
One of the best camping investments we ever made. Is easy to set up with one person although on a windy day you might need two. Easily fits a full-size picnic table, our camp kitchen and a couple of lawn chairs. Seems to be of good quality no issues there, however we only got seven pegs which allowed us to anchor the clam to the ground but no pegs for the tiedowns. We have 7 pegs we feel they should be 11 one for each corner of the tent and one for each tiedown. The only Recommendation we could make is it would be nice if the centre dome had a hook to hang a lantern off of. Overall we are very happy with the product. Get lots of compliments and inquiries about it.

Quick set up.
This shelter is awesome. Quick to set up and take down. Like anything it takes a little practice. Very well made and lots of ways to secure it from the wind. The space inside is huge. You can easily have eight chairs inside without feeling cramped. Would highly recommend!

Roof collapses in heavy wind creates a basin to catch rain, then tent leaks.
First the good, we love this clam quick set pavilion tent. Set up is quick and easy. Lots of room inside, the solid walls have windows. The tent is well made, zippers, velcro fasteners all great. We bought the optional tarp floor, so much cleaner. It is waterproof as long as the roof does not collapse. The zip down solid walls are wonderful. it has to be staked down by the wall pull out handles which pass through the solid walls. Added climber clips to the stake ropes to make it easy to disconnect and reconnect the stake ropes. The company says it can be used as a regular tent for sleeping with the optional floor insert. We had lots of rain in the past week, two nights ago heavy wind gusts with a little bit of rain. The wind collapsed the roof which filled with rain and then the inside of tent leaked. The indoor outdoor carpet and floor mat were wet. Plus the wind continued throughout the day.. after trying an 8' 2 by 4 which did not work. I ended up putting the old sun umbrella inside the tent weighted in place with a heavy pail of rocks. Once the umbrella was up the roof no longer caved in. It would be impossible to sleep in this tent during a rain/wind storm. In my opinion this is a design flaw. Perhaps clam should offer an accessory like 2 flexible poles that can be installed criss crossed in the centre inside the tent to keep the roof up during storms... or some kind of pole in the middle to act the way the sun umbrella does. After putting the umbrella in I opened up all the solid walls, removed the wet carpet and mat. The inside dried out real quick with the heavy wind. I gave it a 3 star rating on value for money as it was expensive almost $1000. CAD. Update my fix for the roof collapsing due to 30 mph winds. bought a 5 gallon plastic pail with lid, 40 lb bag of play sand, pool noodle, height adjustable tent pole and small foam ball from dollar store. cut a hole in the centre of plastic pail lid cut a criss cross in the foam ball to put over the pointy part of the tent pole that meets the roof top cut the pool noodle about 6 inches shorter than the depth of the pail, the pool noodle prevents the sand from filling in the tent pole hole when pole is removed. works great, plus the pail can double as a small table or foot stool. Update June 19, 2022. We had a major winds yesterday all day.. the wind gusts up to 40 mph wrecked the orange foam ball at the top of my tent pole inside the tent, tipped over the 40lb pail of play sand, then of course the roof collapsed. I took the tent pole out, left the roof down. Went back to the Clam website and found this: We recommend using the provided tether ropes and stakes for securing your shelter. Tie the rope to the eyebolt on the outside of the shelter and secure to the stake approx. 6-10โ away from the bottom of the ground skirt. Tether further than the recommended placement creates a bad angle and removes tension from the shelter; potentially causing unwanted roof collapse. We further recommend additional stakes on the inside corners (through the metal grommets) for added placement stability. (NOTE: Stakes are provided for one full form of securement and we recommend they be used with the tether ropes outside the shelter.) My tether ropes were at about a 45ห angle. Pulled up the stakes moved them to no more than 1 foot from the tent skirt. Popped the roof back up. This morning the roof is still up. I do hope this will work, I find the collapsing roof to be a major nuisance. We use it for a backyard gazebo every day. I can't imagine trying to camp with this tent using it to sleep in or eat in especially if you get a wind/rain storm, when you need the shelter the most the roof collapses.. sheesh...

Lots of room!
Definitely READ THE INSTRUCTIONS FIRST! It looks like you are setting it up upside down but you are not! The bulky part is at the top then it opens up. Easy set up. Very roomy lots of space for a large picnic table plus chairs. We Love it. Worth the money. Ours had a small hole in the one panel so we messaged the company & they were awesome to deal with! They took care of the problem.
