I was starting a YouTube channel and wanted to use my Boya M1 Lavalier Mic with my Canon T3i DSLR camera. What I didn't know was that the amount of poles or pins on your 3.5 mm jack matters to what your device can and cannot read. So while my phone read 4 poles, my DSLR could only read 3 (TRRS vs. TRS). As a result, I could never my camera to register my mic. This little adapter fixed that issue perfectly. I just plugged my Lav Mic jack into the adapter and then plugged the adapter into the mic jack on the DSLR. Worked great and I now how good sound. If you have a problem like this, splurge on this $10 adapter, b/c some of the cheaper adapters are terrible. Hope this helps!

The adapter works and that's what's important. It's great to have a couple extra around to make sure they're easy to find.

Some other adapters on the market have the female and Male components connected by a section of wires. This is not only cumbersome, but a weak point. This unit has both components built into the same piece which makes the adapter more versatile, in my opinion. I would recommend this adapter.

An adapter should do one thing. Adapt two cables. It does not. It was far too loose to work properly. Any sort of loud noises would blow it out and if on a moving mic during any movement it would chatter and ruin the audio totally. I used it on multiple devices and even a brand new gopro media mod port. All did not function. On top of that they did not respond to my attempt to inquire about the defrctive product so I had to send it back via amazons refund service.

It works as well as the original that I lost!
