I just received this hat and have not yet worn it for my daily morning walk but I really like it. According to what I’ve heard we’ll have to wear face coverings even when walking alone, so needed to find something that wouldn’t be too restrictive when walking. A regular face mask is just not comfortable for long periods of time, or in the heat. This hat is light weight and every part is detachable (back drape, front face covering, even the chin strap). The piece that goes over the face is light-weight fabric/netting that hangs down so would allow me to drink water without removing. It will satisfy the requirement for face covering in a light weight way. UPDATE: I have now been wearing this on my daily walks for three weeks. The weather here in coastal Southern California is getting warmer and sunnier each week and this hat is comfortable, cool and allows for quick face covering or release of face drape. I have been stopped numerous times by other walkers asking where I got this hat. I have removed face covering at the end of each week and wash by hand. Still recommend this hat. My husband liked it so well, we got the man’s version of this for him.

But other than that, this thing is the best. Tough, doesn't warp like my other visors. And it's WIDE. Like, it doesn't matter which direction the sun is coming from. This thing keeps my face in the shade no matter what. Given that I'm currently slathering medicines on my cheeks, that's important. It's comfy. It serves it's purpose well. I don't regret paying what I did for it. Oh, and it's definitely gray (I ordered the gray). Okay at this point I'm just knocking off the little "Ideas" topics suggested by the Amazon page. When did they implement this thing...

Very pleased. Great sun protection. I have worn it almost every day since delivery, sometimes with the neck guard, sometimes without. Since it is summer now the back of my neck gets more sun exposure as I will tie it back or up to stay cooler. The neck guard is a nice, lightweight shield replacement. I haven't used the nose/mouth mask yet, although I could have since there was some unexpected road construction work along the route to the store that I walk where that would have been wonderful had I remembered it. Two problems that I have encountered with the sunat are 1) it is just a tiny bit too big for me so the bill will tend to slide down and interfere with my eyesight. This I have somewhat alleviated by using a long hairclip and anchoring it to my hair, and 2), when walking against the wind the bill is easy to fly up and off my head, even with the chin strap. At least I don't have to chase it down the street, thanks to the strap. Also, I thought when I purchased it that the description read foldable, but I haven't figured out how it can be yet. Still, speaking as someone who is outdoors often and for prolonged periods, I am very happy with my purchase.

This hat has so many ways it can be worn. The crown zips out and the lower face can be attached for extra protection and has a nose and c;heek cover too. The flap that covers the neck and top of the back gives full coverage in those areas. The front brim extends out but tapers to the sides so wearing this hat is always comfortable. The quality is great and the price is very reasonable considering all features.

I'm aware of all the curious looks I get for wearing such a wide-brimmed hat, but it's worth the sense of comfort I feel in having the top of my head covered and being at least slightly shaded from the strong rays of the sun. I just love this hat, been using it regularly for 4 years straight, and all that's fallen off of it so far is the little bow on the side. Frankly, along with the sun, it does block a good portion of the view of the wearer's surroundings when the hat rests lower on the forehead. I find that adjusting the velcro strap so the brim is above the forehead helps minimize this effect. It also helps to try and make a conscious effort to look around your surroundings when wearing this. Hope you found the review helpful!

I have a facial skin cancer, i had to treat with a lotion which keeps me out of the sun. Since I have an extensive garden I did need to be able to walk in the sun. I added this hat (and face covering) and worked outside. I also wore sunscreen. The Hat and Face shield do make a little opening for your eyes, since I wear glasses this was a tight fit but I wanted it to be so none of my skin shows. This makes it a bit hard to see peripherally but overall this is just what I needed and it seemed to work just find. Word of advice, let your neighbors know that you'll be wearing this get face mask (with the hat) or they may think someone else is on your property, as my neighbors did. We all had a good laugh after they realized it was actually me!

thought this would be practical for summer since it covers the neck. It is a nice sunhat and fits fine. There is a neck strap to hold it down when it is windy. However the mask attachment does not work, which i was disappointed by since it seemed like a nice alternative to wearing a proper mask when hiking. The problem is that the velcro for the mask is too high, so when you attach it, it covers my eyes!

I had to work outside during August for 2 weeks (due to the pandemic) during the peak sun hours of the day. The first few days I just wore a visor, and slathered on lots of super-high SPF sunscreen. That helped, but my neck took quite a beating from the sun. And my face was still getting irritated from sun exposure... and it felt so hot behind my covid mask. This hat was a godsend! It is very easy to adjust so that the face mask fits you however you want it. The hat really shaded my face and shielded it from the sun and the heat. I felt so much cooler and more comfortable. I LOVED this hat. And... my kids told me I looked like a beekeeper (but that's a PLUS)!
