I wouldn't recommend that. The battery included is a rechargeable battery. It may cause fan to stop working or damage the battery. Irreversible damage could occur.

How long does the battery last when the fan is on the highest speed?

Once fully charged I used mine for like 2 hrs at a time. It was on low to medium speed. I did this through out a single day many times. I love my fan.
