Over 30 years ago we bought a similar unit. Used it and moved through 2 homes. Last summer we moved to an apartment. I swore to my husband it wouldn’t fit under the cabinets(it had a double burner with a top burner too) and we just wouldn’t have the room. Well, we bought a Ninja pathetic coffee maker and for months sat every morning waiting forever and lamenting the old BUNN (by the way it is still in use our nephews cafe in another state). So we broke down and bought this unit. It’s life changing and the best coffee you can get - anywhere. I think the trick is the hot water reservoir pouring that ready heated water over the grounds. Ready in 3 mins! It’s miraculous and so hot and delicious. I know it’s a lot of money but 100% worth it. I think this one should last until we croak and hopefully our kids will take it appreciate it as much as we do. I wasn’t a fan of paying for this but it’s solid stainless steel and comes packaged beautifully too. Comes with the pouring pitcher and some filter! Buy it and enjoy!

I hope a few coffee aficionados will take a moment and read along in silent prayer; for my coffeemaker produced its final brew just last month. After so many years together it came as no surprise, but the sorrow still remains. The Bunn is my coffee maker; I shall not percolate. Bunn maketh my beverage in three minutes; it brewith my coffee with hot waters. Bunn restoreth my soul; it leadeth me in the path of righteous joe for its name sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of decaf, I will fear no freeze dried; for Bunn art with me; thy warmer and decanter comfort me. Bunn prepares the mug before me in the presence of mine boxer shorts: thou filleth my head with joy; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and coffee shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in my house, with a Bunn, forever. Amen. I'm sure the soul crushing experience of having to replace such a faithful, long serving appliance will be with me for some time. But that's just what makes this banal piece of equipment transcend a level beyond that which a disposable society recognizes. For more than thirteen years my Bunn coffee maker has produced at least one pot of coffee per day, with vacations no more frequent than my own. Considering the purchase price and absolute care free performance, this amortizes to less than three cents per pot of consistent, fast and perfect coffee. What a fantastic value that device has been. Through my grief, not anger since it lasted longer than any other coffeemaker (by an order of magnitude); I decided to take a leap to the commercial grade model (VP-17). It shares some similarities with the home version with a tank of water preheated and always ready to brew. This is the same philosophy which operates most home water heaters, where maintaining a hot tank of water is more efficient than starting from faucet temperatures. When the tank is filled with cold water, it displaces the water which was waiting at the optimal temperature, for a drip brewed coffee just like you get in every diner and restaurant across the country, because it is the same piece of equipment. You will need to order a decanter as the VP-17 does not include this accessory, but a fill pitcher IS included. I prefer the glass decanter for looks and performance since it has no moving parts like the broad lid on the home version. This is a larger unit with the body standing at 16 7/8 inches and the filling lid topping out at 17 ¾ inches closed. Measure the area you are considering for any clearance issues. It is a stainless steel beauty which is clearly built to last. The unit does come with some coffee filters which are larger than the home version. Remember you are brewing with the big boys now. If this machine lasts as long as the other, then I won't be buying another one till the year 2025, if man is still alive, if woman can survive.....

This is a terrific coffee maker. It makes wonderful coffee, quickly. I bought this coffee maker because I was looking for a coffee maker that did not contain plastic, and while this comes with a plastic coffee basket you can purchase a stainless basket for this machine, which I did. I’ve included the link below. I did not want to drink coffee every day with plastic leeching into the brew, so this was essential for me. This machine is built to last, it does not have auto shutoff or any fancy features, you can either get an outlet timer to auto shut if that’s what you are looking for. After reading the reviews, some people recommended getting a funnel tip for the stainless basket. ( it simply screws onto the bottom of coffee basket) I got the funnel tip, it was only about five dollars. It brews flavorful coffee each time, it is not weak it is a perfect pot of coffee. The coffee maker is on the large size, but fits under my kitchen cabinet. You fill the water from the top front of machine, so you just have to make sure this portion is not under the cabinet. Some reviews mention over flow issues, I have never had a problem once. I did buy the bunn coffee filters so of course they fit perfectly. Yes, some things must be purchased in addition to the machine, such as the coffee pot, and stainless basket if you want no plastic, but this machine seems like it will outlast any other coffee maker I’ve ever had. I know this brand, and this coffee maker is what they use in diners and they are made to last. I bought this model 10-2014 and still use it daily. I updated to a Bunn thermal carafe from glass and installed a Kasa smart plug on the power cord. I set the smart plug to turn on at 05:00 and off at 09:00. Sometime in that window I make a pot of coffee into the thermal carafe and it says HOT all day. Overall, we are still extremely happy with the unit. We used to buy a new consumer grade plastic coffee maker annually. They would break or melt and it just was not worth trying to fix. The only caveat is it is not easy to clean or descale. I only knock it one star because I love it, but please read my explanation. I use a product specifically for cleaning stainless. It is hard to remove kitchen grease spots and finger prints without scratching the stainless. I understood all this beforehand and was prepared to cope. Descaling was a different story. I use the included cleaning spring weekly as outlined in the instruction manual. It goes really fast; not a problem. We have fairly hard well water and it takes its toll on everything. I boil the spray head in vinegar to loosen up deposits occasionally. It just unscrews from the unit. I knock off the big stuff with a toothpick and make sure it stays clean. As the unit ages, the scale builds up in the internal tank. This causes the unit to boil the water in the internal tank when the thermostat cycles the heater. When the unit gets a little loud, I just install an empty funnel and cycle a gallon or 2 of vinegar through the warmed up unit into a glass carafe. You have to then cycle an absolute butt load of water through the unit before your next coffee brewing session. I wonder if Bunn offers a machine to clean the internal tank; like heater technicians use to descale boilers. It could be something that would replace the fill basin inlet fitting on the tank lid and connect to where the spray head threads onto. In 08-2022 the brewing cycle was getting long, about 15 minutes. I completely disassembled the unit and thoroughly cleaned the entire machine, inside and out. I found the lime scale had restricted the opening in the tank lid from the basin. This caused the poured water to stay in the basin and increase my brew time. After cleaning the entire unit it is back to working great again!! Thank you Mr. Bunn for a great cup of coffee every morning...

After researching for a coffee maker that was all metal, no plastic, & made in the US, I found this to be the only coffee maker that ticked those boxes. It is made Springfield IL, & the quality is easy to see. It is built like a tank. It is on 24/7, so you get coffee within about 2 minutes. The only “on” switch is to activate the heat plate beneath the pot. Pouring water in tank causes it to run off into your carafe, so have your grounds basket in place before adding your water. What you need to purchase in addition to this coffee maker: Coffee carafe It comes with a plastic grounds basket which can be replaced with the BUNN stainless steel grounds basket & you will then need the basket adopter too which is about $14. The quality of the grounds basket is very good. This coffee maker is made to last. I hesitated about the price but am so glad I made the purchase. I have purchased so many coffee makers that just don’t last beyond a couple of years, & then sadly end up in the land fill. I finally realized that buying quality was the more economical thing to do. The coffee is consistently excellent. You have to make 12 cups every time, so this may be a concern to some.

High quality machine no plastic inside well built but it's huge if you have limited counter space this machine not for you

This is by far the most handsome appliance in the house...(complete with styled beauty, brushed chrome, refined speed & quality mechanism - it is nearly as thrilling as parking a Jaguar XKE roadster in your kitchen). 2nd place now goes to our jealous Dualit toaster. We purchased this icon about 1 month ago and have used it almost daily; it makes piping hot coffee at a moment's notice. This isn't a consumer product adapted from a commercial model...this IS the commercial model. Simple to use (grounded coffee into the filter, slide the filter holder into the Bunn and pour a pitcher of fresh water (I recommend you purchase the official Bunn pitcher...very cool) into the top of Mr. Bunn and presto! Hot, fresh coffee... The water tank maintains the high temperature, just right for brewing, 24/7. The heating element for the carafe is powered by a separate switch. So you have to remember to turn this switch off when you are finished drinking coffee for the day, or it will continue to heat the coffee to a point of burning. This particular electrical power arrangement also makes it difficult to add an off/on timer...but the beauty lies in the simplicity of Mr. Bunn, albeit with some inconvenience. To be fair, I might add that my wife pretty much hates Mr. Bunn....because it doesn't have a timer and it is sooo huge {and the shipping cost to Saudi Arabia was nearly as much as a car payment}...(by the way, it doesn't take up much more counter space than a boring, consumer-type coffee maker but it does reach a bit for the ceiling)...so take some measurements before you buy to ensure good fitting...or just buy it and make it fit...this is what I did. p.s. the purchase (amazingly) does not come with a carafe...I guess because of it's commercial purchase nature...so remember to buy a Bunn carafe and the Bunn water pitcher for a complete package. I fill the container supplied a little more than half way . I also bought the adapter and metal coffee / filter holder . I found out that after adding the adapter you can rip a small piece of coffee filter and put it in the adapter hole we're coffee dispenses. This will give the coffee time to set and flavor as it pours to a slow drip . I have had some of the best coffee this way as I'm only brewingjust over a half a pot at a time . I also cut the warmer on right before brewing and shut it off shortly after seems to keep the coffee hot until it's all finished..Also if you go out of town or in vacation I would put this on a switch to shut off entirely as it cycles to stay heated . Recent edit : putting a shut off switch has helped a lot .. bought the stainless filter bowl and use x large commercial filters made for this 12 cup brewer . I recently gave it a through cleaning inside and out ..This. Coffee maker has been flawless and some of the best coffee my wife and I have had . We use it primarily on the weekends and take k cups during the work week .Really need to let this heat up for 15 -20 min before inserting water . Also when cleaning make sure to clean up under where the coffee distribution is into the stainless cup. I used a small amount of vinegar and cycled a ton of water through it to help clean it . Works like a charm ..

Excellent coffee machine. I bought it from my office. It works well, keeps the coffee, hot, easy to clean and use. It was such a great addition to my office that I ended up buying three more for other facilities. I would highly recommend this product if you need to consistently make coffee. I would order an extra coffee pot as a back up because it only comes with one

Great coffeemaker that delivers a good pot of coffee quickly. After 20 years+ (daily residential use) our last Bunn VP17-1 didn't owe us a thing so my husband and I decided we wanted the very same model. I gave it 5 stars for value due to the terrific longevity of our last coffeemaker. Service was very fast and the coffeemaker arrived without damage. Happy customer.

Once it is set up you get a pot of coffee in under 5 minutes. I have ours on a timer so it is not running all day and wasting hydro and is available for our morning coffee. Lower warming element Keeps our coffee hot. Well constructed, we replaced the OEM plastic funnel with a metal one so our coffee is plastic free.

This thing will brew a pot of coffee in under 5 minutes. It powers through.

Ordered this to replace an old Bunn coffee maker in our office. This coffee maker is all stainless steel and it looks great but best of all it makes great coffee. Love this machine.
