Our Slant/Pitch Shoe for 1/2" Iron Balusters are specifically designed to conceal the hole that is drilled along angled runs in your staircase. Use on slanted areas only. Will work with all balusters listed as 1/2" square 1-5/16" square base - 2" tall 1/2" square opening shoe. 100% Aluminum - Includes a Hex socket head set screw. Use 2.5mm Allen wrench to secure set screw. Shoes come with factory-set 40-degree angle (it has some tolerance and can be adjusted). Use pitch shoes at the top and bottom of angled rake. Use pitch shoes at the top and bottom of angled rake. Note: In order to make the installation simpler, faster, and to reduce the chance of slipping we recommed you glue shoes down with adhesive or epoxy. Review: Not standard slant on these shoes - Be aware that these baluster shoes are a 45 degree slant on bottom and are not for standard 36-38 degree sloped stair rake wall. Going back I see they have 45 degree listed for the slope at the very bottom of the page. All the images they show however are for standard staircases. I took a star away for the lack of clarity and misinformation due to the images they show. The only staircase these could be used ‘as is’ would be a very steep spiral staircase maybe? They’re aluminum so I could have ground a new angle on each of these but....no thanks. So although they look nicely made and were packaged really well, I decided to return.
