Bayou Classic 4042 - Aluminum Stockpot with Basket - 42 Qt, Domed Lid, Heavy Handles, Steaming

We loaded this thing down to capacity and the water kept its boil and our cook was awesome.

Gave it yo our son… he loves it!

Shrimp boil champ is what this made me during vacation. Big size and lightweight were pluses but the ease of cleaning it up was what really impressed me. Can’t wait for the next boil...this time at home.

Works perfect. I have cooked several shrimp and crab boils. Keep in mind when it is full of water and food it is super heavy. Works great on my fishfryer burner or on my stove top. Keep in mind this container is aluminum so when you usr burner you need to tun te flame lower because i have notice other reviewers burning through the aluminum buttom because they run the flam past the melting point of aluminum. Very happy with product would highly recommend. Just a side not that handles are solid and revitted on and will hold up to a ton of use.

On a whim, I decided to do a crawfish boil and needed a large enough pot to handle ten to twelve pounds of mudbugs, potatoes, corn and sausage. This pot was the perfect size.Having cooked for the better part of my life, I know that when buying pots and pans, you get what you pay for and this pot is definitely no exception and I will review and rate it for what it is. The good news is, I expected it to be thin and cheap going in, so I wasn't too disappointed. When the pot arrived, there were a couple dents in it, but nothing a little hammer couldn't knock back out. The lid had a couple bends along the edge as well, but was easy to bend back into shape. The pot and steam insert were both covered in aluminum dust so be sure to give them a good washing before first use.Once I got the pot cleaned, straight to the burner it went. The light weight pot is perfect for seafood and mudbug boils and it worked great. Given the thin gauge of the aluminum, I would not use this pot for anything other than boils or maybe a fry pot. Definitely not built for stews and chili, unless you plan on standing and stirring the entire cook.

This is great and I love how I can put so much in it. I finally had my Crab Boil.

Worked for me....I have seen other reviews regarding the melting point bla bla bla.....here is a hint....be patient, drink a couple extra beers it will boil! You don’t have to kill it with a space shuttle engine. Worked great for a shrimp boil that was 3/4 full. Steaming crabs would be a breeze. We will see if it holds up but seems to do well as long and you don’t put it on lava and just let it do it’s thing.

I debated about stainless before buying this pot, but ultimately selected this one for conduction properties. That fact that it's lighter than stainless is also beneficial since I use it for large boils. I was feeling a little anal knowing it won't always be shiny & new, but am so pleased with the way it cleans up, especially when you oil the interior prior to use as directed. I expect to have this pot at the heart of many gatherings for years to come.

Great pot! We used it to make a seafood boil and it turned out great. The only thing that I wish was more clear when ordering is that you need a high pressure heat source, which I didn’t have. I thought I would be able to use on my stove but way to big. Was planning on returning but instead just bought a heat source and all worked out great. Will use for corn roasts and more seafood boils for sure.
